It's always hard to find the perfect holiday gift for your SO, especially if you're working within a low budget. Of course, it's always the thought that counts, but generally that only matters if
the thought is really good. Here are
five thoughtful gifts for your SO that won't make you bankrupt. 1. A free pass for [insert action here] anytime
Cut a piece of construction paper in the shape of a gift certificate. Decorate it and fill it out with something special that you know your SO would love, for example "A free pass for a 40 minute massage to be redeemed anytime." This is cute, simple, and pretty original!
2. A personalized phone case
If your SO has a phone that can be put in a case, personalize a case for them! I've seen this for as inexpensive as 12.95, and a picture of you and your SO together would make a pretty adorable phone case.
3. A meaningful collection of songs
If you're really low on cash, or think this might be especially meaningful to your SO, you can always burn a CD of 20 songs that are especially meaningful and nostalgic to you guys. You can also print it picture of you two and put it behind the plastic on the front of the CD case for a cute album cover!
4. A t-shirt of their favorite band or musician
Bands and musicians tend to have a lot of sales on their otherwise pricey merchandise around the holidays. Keep an eye our for these discounts-- this can be a relatively inexpensive gift, but one that shows you care!
5. A personalized cookbook
Of course, this doesn't work for everyone-- if your significant otehr doesn't like cooking or baking, you're SOL with this one. But if they have eve hinted at the slightest interest in cooking, compile many recipes that seem appealing to you-- you can easily find these online or in cookbooks at home, decorate the pages, and create a cookbook for your girlfriend or boyfriend!

I like number 1. it is sweet. thanks for your suggestions.
Number 2 is lame for guys. Even for girls it's ehhhh.
@vicdaily@xanga - my hubby got me a personalized iPod and case for my birthday... I love it.. He took the time to pick something for me, then the extra time to make is just Mine. I don't think its lame at all....
Etsy is a wonderful place to look for ideas and usually very affordable. I know I got my fiance a Samus made entirely out of perler beads and he loves it.
I like number three
Love the gift ideas <3
my partner would hate all of these. except maybe number 4.
If you are great with make-up, hair and photography-- a printout of a classy pin up wallet-sized picture of yourself would be kinda cool, if your so digs retro-looking pictures. If you have kids or planning to have kids, just make sure you keep your poses tolerable and not overly too suggestive. I'm sure there are ways to take modest poses with pin up pictures.
idk y what u give the girl is so important. does that shit even matter, i mean i thought girls just liked getting stuff/attention anyways
lol anyways #simpinainteasy
Personally, I think the majority of these are cheesy... and don't really fit with my relationship.
The personalized iphone case is nice - except, my fiance loves his case. The cookbook - well, he's a chef, so I wouldn't have a clue what to put in here. The free pass thing is dumb, a t-shirt of a band is kinda.. blah.. I just like things that are more meaningful.
This is what I bought my fiance for Christmas -
Halo 4 ($70) - Because he wanted it. A bookmark $15 (he loves to read but constantly loses his) that I bought on Etsy and is hand crafted it says "Because I love you" on it : ), I bought him boxers $30 for four, because he needed them. I bought him the Gillette profusion styler $10 on amazon because I know he'll love it, and the first season of Falling Skies. $20 on amazon (I like to combine things he needs and sweet things).
I'm in the process of doing number 1 already! Haha! We are very tight on money (his hours got cut back at work) this year, so we are DIY-ing our presents to each other.
A book she wanted to read, with pressed rose petals on the back page and a hand-written note and signature.
I like the first one.. but all are superb ideas:)
meaning full song is really nice idea:)
I love to read and appreciate your work.
