• Belting Out the Perfect Pitch in "Pitch Perfect"

  
  Sometimes all you need is a captivating cast and a catchy soundtrack to make a hit comedy that'll have you laughing, singing along and applauding all at once. With a more developed cross mixture between Glee and a musical Stomp the Yard, Pitch Perfect puts a whole new spin on a cappella rivalry. Though not lacking predictability, the movie still manages to keep you under its spell with its witty and sarcastic commentary, always followed by unforgettable breakout vocals. 
  
  Beca (Anna Kendrick) is an aspiring DJ and music producer, who couldn't care less about the sounds coming out of people's mouths and more about the ones eluding from her headphones. She's talked into attending college by her professor father who sees her heading down a path with no future. Seeing she's off to a start of no promise, they conjure up a deal to give school a shot and get involved. If it doesn't work out, he'll help her make her move to L.A to explore her passion.
  
  
  This ultimatum leads Beca into the spitfire forces of the Barden Bellas, now consisting of only two: Aubrey (Anna Camp) and Chloe (Brittany Snow); one of the many a cappella groups on the Barden U campus. Hesitant and unsure of the girls, Beca joins the all-girl group anyway, when she and nine others make it through auditions. Cuts are made, songs and choreography are brushed up on and the girls think they are ready to take on their ongoing rivals, the all-male obnoxious group, the Treblemakers.
  
  But of course, things don't go as planned and the stubborn perfectionist that is Aubrey, is forced to realize that she must loosen up on her leash if she ever wants to see a trophy.
  
  
  Unforgettable, charismatic and simply divine, Pitch Perfect delivers on an unbelievable scale. With the combination of the no-nonsense lesbian belter Cynthia Rose (Ester Dean), the overtly sexy Stacie (Alexis Knapp), the uncensored fat-Amy (Rebel Wilson) and the always above a whisper, Lily (Hana Mae Lee), the Barden Bellas keep you in their grasp. 
  

  
  With a soundtrack ranging from David Guetta's "Titanium" and Nicki Minaj's "Starships," to Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" and Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love to You," the cast does a superb job of bringing a new rendition to the past and present.

  At the rate in which the fall & winter movie theater lineup is prepping out to be, with the horror, thrillers and dramas forever on the horizon, this may be the most amazing comedy film of the year. Giving us a mixture of laughs and romance, that's sparked into motion by Jesse's (Skylar Astin) love for The Breakfast Club, how could one go wrong? Pitch Perfect hits it out of the park.
  
  But will you be there to witness when it hits theaters worldwide, on October 5th?
