Let me first inform you that this Portlandia parody is a fairly accurate depiction of my current dating pool. This is what I am dealing with, people! But setting the sketch comedy show and my hometown aside, I’d like to know how the ladies feel about kissing a guy with a beard?
For me, it brings back memories of being 19 years old. I worked at a coffee shop next to the courthouse and was being wooed by bearded bike messengers. And by wooed I mean making out with them while playing spin the bottle with a half empty bottle of Jack.
Yeah, I am not so into that whole lifestyle now that I’m trying to make it in the real(ish) world so I find it difficult to have those memories surface every time I receive a scraggly kiss. However, I still find myself attracted to bearded men....
Ladies, how do you feel about beards? And fellows, whats kissing like when you’re bearded versus clean shaven?
I don't like kissing guys with facial hair. A tiny bit is fine, but if it gets too long, it's itchy and gives me a rash.
i shaved for the first time 2 nights ago in over a month...so that probably gives you some idea of my thoughts on the subject.
that being said, in college i used to shave everyday, but people still told me i had a permanent 5 o'clock shadow. at some point i decided if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. so in grad school i switched to only shaving once every week or two. more recently i bought an electric razor, and when i meet other guys with beards, i tend to have a pretty in-depth discussion about our beard habits. this one time i was at a dinner party with a bunch of girl friends, and asked a bearded guy (who i had only met that night) what kind of razor he uses. the girls started laughing and one asked me, "what kind of question is that?" but if girls can all talk about what brand of tampon they use, why can't i talk about what brand of razor i use? seems fair to me. girls have periods, guys have beards. and i'm pretty okay with that. i look damn fine with my stubble, if you ask me. sometimes i just stare in the mirror and admire my facial hair.
I don't mind if a guy some facial hair...as long as it is not long and straggly, I am fine with it.
My boyfriend always has some sort of facial hair going on. It naturally grows really fast so he can shave one day, and the next he'll have a nice beard growing. He never lets it get too long so he shave once a week, or every two weeks maybe. I don't mind it at all when I kiss him. The only time it bothers me is the day after he shaves when it's really prickly and then it can hurt after awhile. But other than that I enjoy him scruffy. =)
That just made me realize that out of about 8 men I kissed only one had something close to a beard (not shaven for 3 days or so). I didn't kiss him at the time, but it felt ok. Guess it depends on the hair structure, lol. Anyway, love conquers all.
I really dislike beards and mustaches! I don't find them appealing at all.
When i was in a relationship I hated having a beard as much as my ex. Just the feeling of having whiskers and not being able to feel someone elses soft skin against yours is a bit of an irritation. However, I am right now growing a beard for the first time seriously. I've been putting effort into caring for it so that once it gains some length it'll soften up nicely. I think it'll be a different experience entirely having a soft beard, kissing and such, compared to the wirey rough one almost all guys have when they grow a low beard.
i like beards but not mustaches and nothing longer than a half inch. sexy
It depends on the guy xD some look good with them and some not so much.
as long as they can pull it off and keep it clean. whatever go for it
Have any of you heard? Tom Cruise had to divorce his beard. Sad story....
my man has a beard and i wouldn't have it any other way. i find shaven men more "scratchy" than bearded. beards are like padding.
I love them. Love facial hair. Scruff! aghhhhh. LOVE!!!! When my boyfriend was on vacation, in 3 days he had a beard. I about eye skeeted everytime I saw him.
oh god this post got me so excited! when done right, beards are the fucking sexiest thing ever emmm. yesyesyes!
depends on the guy; super hot on khal drogo(jason momoa) & jack sparrow(johnny depp)
on richard karn from the home improvement tv show and nick nolte; NO. never.
@TheNotoriousGOD@xanga - Bro, I'm askin' you a favor as one guy to another; since this year, I can't partake in No Shave November due to my manager's orders at work - please complete the challenge for me.
K thx.
I love kissing men with beards. I love how it feels against my face and I don't even mind when my face gets red from having stubble rubbed against my face. There is something so manly and rugged about a beard I find them so attractive. It's gotten to the point where I don't even find myself attracted to any clean shaven men.
@Coffee_Kaioken@xanga - maybe. at my current job this would fly, but i'm hoping to get a new one by then. (actually, i've been saying that since april :( ) i heard once it was illegal for an employer to say that, btw.
also, i didn't know you were still alive. good to hear from you dude.
I've had plenty of experiences with the beard and the non-beard. Two separate instances I dated guys with *full* beards- I'm not talking ZZ Top or anything but still way more than just a bit of stubble. I actually didn't mind the sensation and it was mostly interesting to me because I don't have the ability to grow one myself. What I didn't like was how defensive BOTH of them were about their beards. They'd go on about previous women they dated who were always on their cases about shaving and how I better not say a thing if I knew what was good for me...A beard is something I am unable to understand.
I think I'd go for plenty of different looks that work well depending on the type of guy. If they are truly comfortable in their own skin then I'm bound to be attracted to that regardless of the particular look they go for. I like clean shaven, some sexy stubble, beards...whatever.
Beards look cool, but too scratchy to touch.
You know what's scratchy? Stubble. Guys who shave regularly get stubble in between shaves. Full blown facial hair tends to be softer.
I'm avoiding dating altogether right now so I don't even really know what I like. Many guys look really freaking cute with facial hair, though.
About Me: I used to be terrible at eating. A bowl of cereal here, a bag of chips there... It just wasn't on my priority list. Until I got diagnosed with Celiac disease in May 2012. Now I'm having fun with food and learning what nutrients my body needs to thrive!
Come dine with me!

@ShirleyD@xanga - hahaha i loled at eye skeeting. did you see the guy who holds the guinness world record for that? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7EPl1N_aN4
i can't believe people actually compete for stupid shit like that...
@TheNotoriousGOD@xanga - I've never seen that! A whole new meaning to eye skeeting...
