It seems we all grew up with a ready pucker. From our grandparents, parents, aunts, cousins and old weird Uncle Slim, we have all shared kisses. Family kisses are automatic and inconsequential. But the day comes when your ten-year-old neighbor, William, plants a lip lock on you and it’s then that you decide that you'd rather kiss old truck tires than little boys.
The years flit by and then one day you’re 13 and looking for William. The hormones have kicked in, you’re wearing lipstick and kissing gives you the shivers. At 14, you get your first French kiss and you think you’re going to hurl. At 15, you’re using your tongue to fence with William’s tonsils. You soon realize that kissing is normal and even commonplace. Until one day, that certain someone plants a whammy on you!
Your knees go weak, your eyes flutter and you experience third degree moistness in the nether region. You’re in love! From that point on, every kiss is special from him and sought after. The problem is, you now want to kiss every good looking guy you see. So teenage crushes come and go, like lip gloss, as you perfect your pucker power.
The next few years pass, as well as boyfriends. Now, you’re a sophisticated high school senior and your best girlfriend stays over one night to study for exams. At 1AM, she introduces you to a new experience. Your first girl kiss. Your mind goes wacko with wonderful sensations and a great quantity of guilt.
Now jump ahead two years to your freshman year at college. Here you find some of the best smooch connoisseurs in the world. You even remember a few of their names.
Life goes on, years go by, hearts get broken, but you endure. With every new friend you make, there’s always a kiss just waiting to be harvested.
Do you remember your most memorable kiss? Was there one that changed your entire outlook on the mastering art?

I certainly remember mine. It came about a month after I started dating my future husband.
Kiss with girl who has braces = facerape. Certainly memorable... in a bad way.
ugh. fucking gross. i've only grown to tolerate them in the last year. what it is you people like about them is beyond me.
@TheThoughtsofJake@xanga - i'll keep this in mind next time i decide to date a teenager, hahaha
14, saw the local bad boy on my way home from school, and he walked me home and proceeded to give me my first french kiss AND hickey. YOWZA! ; P
I love kissing it's my favorite things to do and maybe I have kissed too many people but I just think there is nothing better than a good kiss and there is nothing more exciting than the anticipation I feel right before I kiss someone for the first time. It's hard to say my most memorable kiss because I have had so many memorable ones.
My most memorable kiss was not my first. I wish my husband could kiss like this guy did. The one that changed my whole outlook, I was 12 and he was 18 and he taught me I was doing it all wrong.
@olwd@xanga - Lucky you.
Future me and present me generally don't get along.
My first kiss came at age 6 when I was in kindergarten. This girl named Becky and I were next to each other on our cots. We each leaned over and did a few pecks. We did that a lot during nap time. I wonder what happened to her after we 'graduated' from Kindergarten....
o_O wha....?
mwuah!
Out of thousands, two immediately spring to mind.
1.) First real boyfriend when I was 16. He was from England. Kissing him goodbye at the airport was one of the most heartbreaking things. Madly in love, in the middle of the airport terminal, kissing for what might be the last time. It was one of those moments where the people and things going on around you just...fade away.
2.) Finally kissing the 'one who got away'. My best friend and neighbor growing up. Had a crush on him since I was 7. After moving out of state and losing touch for 5 years, I went home for a visit. Tracked him down, spent the night at his new place, and finally made out with him. After 14 years of waiting for that moment.
Sorry I don't kiss and tell. Lol
I remember mine... it was at the 3rd of September, a year ago, and my crush at the time (who is now my boyfriend of a year), took me to the top of a hill at a sunset and gave me one of most passionate kisses I'd ever had. It was one that brought so many emotions and it was like a fireworks kind of kiss. All the other guys I'd kissed were bad lol
My most memorable kiss was probably my first real kiss, or at least first french kiss. Was at Homecoming dance senior year with a girl. I made her kiss me, because I was too shy to make the first move so tried to make her want to kiss me instead. Then she kissed me and it was nasty. Tongue was kinda of small and felt like a birds tongue, not really moist. But that was alright the bad part was her breath and tongue tasted like mint, and I reaaallly hate mint. Other than that all kisses have been about the same, never had one that stood out more than any others.
Most memorable kiss? Maybe another time :P
On mastering the art? Imagine what you want and then do it.
First try at a real kiss ended badly. All 3 times. The guy kept trying to jam his tongue down my throat. Other than that, it's just been my hubby. I'm honestly not a fan of making out, and I strongly dislike having another person's tongue in my mouth.
I hate kissing.
First ever kiss was on Ocean Beach in SF. I was 16. It was surprisingly better than either of us expected.
Most memorable kisses have been memorable for their horrid quality. First kiss with my current boyfriend was terrifyingly bad. First kiss with a girl I was sleeping with was just as bad (as someone else in the comments described "dry and bird tongue". I used to describe it as kissing a dead fish). First kiss with an ex was just as terrible because he decided he needed to get all the way down to my stomach with his tongue (and he didn't get much better as time went on).
There was one deliciously sweet kiss from a guy I was seeing. He was trying to avoid kissing me while fooling around because he thought THAT would be the nail in the coffin for my other relationship at the time (nevermind the fact I was and am in a poly relationship!), but I just grabbed his face and pulled him in and it was so wonderful to get something I wanted after so long. But the actual technique was nothing to write home about.
I don't know. I'm sure good kisses are great and all, but I'm just really not into it. They're slobbery and just....gross.
I hate kissing with tongue. I like it every now & again when he flicks his tongue over the roof of my mouth or something but trying to kiss around a tongue that just lays in your mouth like an unwelcome intruder is not so fun. I'm not a big fan of long make-out sessions, either, but I do like kissing in general.
I've learned not many guys are good at kissing, especially when using tongue. I had one guy who stuffed his tongue down my throat like he was going to actually trying to detach something. Using tongue isn't something you should use all of the time. At least, with me anyways.
But my ex was amazing at kissing. I'll never forget the last kiss we shared. It'll definitely will be the one to beat.
I remember my first kiss. I was 18 and we had just finished watching "Phantom of the Opera" - mighty damn romantic, I think :D
- well dang. i guess i missing out o.O?
I have a few memorable kisses. I think the best one was at my (now ex) boyfriend's house and we were 15 and 16 years old. He had just moved there recently and we were hanging out in his basement and we began kissing. Boy I don't know what it was about this kiss, I'd had a small share of kisses before this as a 15 year old, but this one was special. It was like he was zapping me with lightning
Even though we had some bad times later as we got older I still remember that and I focus less on the negative parts of our relationship.
Then there was my first kiss with my current boyfriend of two years. The anticipation was exciting, and then the actual kiss itself. His kissing style just so wonderfully suited mine, it was just meant to be ;)
Kissing is wonderful ♥
never been kissed....
First kiss: Made out and somehow shot to third base with a girl I had a crush on for 3 years prior. We were lying together on my couch, the lights were off since we were watching a movie, and the worst un-romantic line ever was uttered "Hey, why haven't we kissed yet?" :] It was awkward, and yet the sweetest kiss I've ever experienced.
First official SO: First day we met, we somehow ended up back at my place, inside the bunny hutch, petting the bunny, our heads ended up together and we ended up making out with a rabbit squished between the both of us. Unexpected, and I was used, but it makes for a relatively romantic story with selective details told. :P
Current SO: Been hanging out with each other for a while, ended up asking her out on an official date, at the end my other friend had told me to go for a kiss, and I knew my gf well enough at the time that even if I had failed, it wouldn't be the end of the world. As I walked her up the steps of her building, we stared at each other for a bit, and then I ended up hugging her. I being to walk away defeated, I end up turning around, grabbing her arm, and attempted to kiss her. Unfortunately I chickened out at the last second and kissed her cheek. As I turn to essentially run away, I felt her hand on my arm (when did it get there?) and it felt like she didn't want to let go. Fast forward 3 days later, after a school event, she decided to walk me to my late night class. From the building the event was in, we passed through a pretty romantic garden, and I thought to myself (damn she's walking me far [as she was part of that event we came from]). By the time we exited the garden, our hands had brushed and I ended up holding two of her fingers. Nothing but awkward smiles from her, and so I ended up grabbing her hand. We walked without saying a word holding hands until the first crosswalk (quite a ways from her event) and when we got to there, I turned to her and kissed her softly on the lips. It was a moment of pure awkwardness and biss combined! The crosswalk ended up changing, and we walked in each others brace, extremely awkwardly if i might add, halfway across campus near my class. We she kissed me awkwardly goodbye (and missed if I might add), and the rest is history :]
