I write a lot about music on this blog, and honestly, it's one of my favorite things to write about and this blog provides so many opportunities to connect the two. Love songs in particular stir up feelings deep within me from time to time. I begin to really empathize with the song and it makes me feel incredibly emotional whenever listening to it regardless of its personal connection to me.
In this particular case, my all-time favorite love song has no personal or eventful connection to me which I personally prefer. It's my favorite love song and I don't want it to be soured by being tied to a particular guy!

I have always had a soft spot for the Beach Boys (their greatest hits LP sits proudly in my vinyl collection) but I had actually never heard this song until just under a year ago and it was this version being played by my boyfriend at nearly full volume. After watching the above video and then hearing the original, they are both so very lovely, but this live cover just sends me over the edge. DEJJ are a Michigan three-piece who are known for their brilliant live performances as well as their DJ sets.
I LOVE watching jam bands live and seeing people play so well together while also being masters of their own instruments (Led Zeppelin is the God Tier example of this). I have actually had this song on loop while writing this. I believe this to be one of the greatest love songs ever written because of its simplicity but unmistakable affection.
A simple two-verse song with no question as to the dynamic of the love being recited, but simple enough that anyone could make it their song without any over analysis as to see if it is applicable to their love. I'm getting worked up just writing about it! Like most of their songs (and especially live), this cover has a beautiful jam out that envelops you and brings the piece to a whole new level.
