I'm pretty sure Adele's chart-topping
Someone Like You will endure for a long time. But since it came out in 2011, it's a little too early to start calling it a classic. So here is my list of 5 beautiful classic love songs, which are mostly much happier than the Brit's breakup anthem.
1. I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston
Yes, it's actually by Dolly Parton. But come on, have you seen The Bodyguard?
2. L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole
Sometimes, the simplest songs endure the longest.
3. I Want To Hold Your Hand by The Beatles
Before songs were all about bumping and the grinding, this British sensation showed us that innocence could be just as lovely.
4. At Last by Etta James
Let's just say there's an excellent reason why this song is so popular at weddings.
5. I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner
A wonderful 80s power ballad, perfect for your newest love.
What do you think? Did we miss any of your favorites?

It's more of a break-up song but I love Adele's Set Fire To The Rain.
I have way too many love songs to even start a list, at least a couple from the 70's, 80's, and 90's each. Almost all are R&B though if that gives a sense of how they'd sound.
@Gaia - I like that song too!
But you missed "You belong to Me" by Jason Wade and "You & me" by LifehouseI don't get the adele craze. how can songs sung by a female, who sounds like a tranny, be romantic in any sense, but to each their own preferences.
@JusticeCho@xanga - agreed, especially 90's r&b. hot black men singers are my fave
aren't nearly all r&b sung by black men though:D

Love of my Life by Queen...
and many others...sigh...
@P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga - Yeah not many others get the sounds, the mood, or the general emotion right. Thought about it the other day and was trying to figure out how to say it politely/correctly. Like they don't got enough black in them, naw. They don't got enough soul? So does that mean white people have no souls? I could maybe see that hehe jk.
I love a lot of Dashboard Confessional love songs, and Jason Mraz
None of the above
I liked different types of music for different times though nothing abnormal in my ears - nothing about snoggin', neckin', french kissin or gettin' it on..music is music though I didn't like the dance music at all, still don't...well anyway this was by random choice:
Every man must have a dream - Liverpool ExpressWe got tonight - Bob SegerBand on the run - Paul McCartney Feel like change - BlackHometown Blues - Tom Pettyto name but a few
You've pretty much hit the nail on the head with those classics!
