It's the time of the season, as they say, and I can't be the only single lady who wants in on the action. Though I haven't had much luck "sealing the deal," so to speak, I do have a select few gent's numbers all of whom wouldn't mind a steamy, late night exchange.
As fun as innuendos may be, it's still a pretty awkward thing to jump into. I know I've had some awkward phone sex conversations in the past where there are long bouts of silence and "um... uh... so"s. It's even more uncomfortable if you haven't talked to the person in a few months.
"Hey, how's the new job? Are you wearing anything?"
There's the classic "what are you wearing?" line, which is pretty straight to the point though I feel that creates even more room for awkwardness. It's almost too direct. Okay, cool. You're wearing cut-off shorts and flip-flops. Alright. Welp... let's get those off.
I appreciate subtlety--a slow ease into a flurry of flirtations. For instance, starting off with "I had a dream about you last night" gets the other person's mind to wander. I'd certainly wonder if it was a sexual dream if some guy texted me that.
Even if I didn't actually dream of any sexy shenanigans with the person, it's a casual enough line to let you abort the operation if you aren't receiving the same restless vibe from the other person.
What do you do or say to purposefully start up a sexual conversation? Do you enjoy sexting or find the whole concept absurd? What's your sexting etiquette?
