Webster's Dictionary defines
Belle Laide as, ": beautiful ugly woman : woman who is attractive though not conventionally beautiful."
I would like to apply this term to men as well!

I like to call it ugly-hot. You're attracted to them even though they aren't conventionally attractive and it's not just about personality because I feel that way about people i have just met or I haven't even met..just by looking at them :)

*drools* Adrian Brody is just sexy. There is nothing ugly or belle laide about him, in my opinion. I just think he's a hottie!
As for my favorite Belle Laide, I'd say that'd have to be Vincent Cassel.

I can't recall anymore names, but I saw ernest hemingway's pic when he was younger and he's so cute. so I mostly know of really old yet hot or ancient beaus

How is Khloe Kardashian on the list? She's prettier than the average girl. Even if she is slightly overweight.

I hate belle laides, or butter faces, or any of those euphemistic terms to compliment a non beautiful person. There is only one type of physical beauty: aesthetic. Either you have it or you don't. Anything extra like your charisma, enthuisiasm, energy, compassion, spirit, et al... are just that, extras. They are a different form of beauty but they cannot be grouped together as physical beauty. Someone with those traits make other people feel good about themselves, so it's ultimately selfish. A natural traditional beauty is pleasing to the eye regardless of what personality they possess.

Actually, I've noticed that about a lot of people I find attractive - I can see why someone would think I'm nuts, but I find them attractive anyway.

I think Khloe is more conventionally beautiful than Kim, but maybe that's just me. It happens often that I don't find someone strikingly beautiful even though they have the 'right measurements'. I am sort of focused on certain feautures I guess, I don't know why.
@zzzzzulavalle@xanga - You're right. I actually caught my typo shortly after I submitted my post. ;) Also: I don't think Khloe is ugly either! In fact, I don't think any of these people are ugly!! Is Khloe conventionally beautiful? Apparently, not by some people's standards -- I've heard more than one person call her, "unattractive." I completely disagree... I think she's sexy as hell. And that's* why she made the list. ;)

How do you know what Kesha looks like? I don't think I've ever seen a real picture of her just smiling at the camera. She always has like a giant freaking star on her face and all that glitter. I think, based off of my imagination, that she is pretty, but it's hard to tell.

When I first saw keegan allen i thought he was kind of ugly ... but then he just grew on me and i used to say hes so ugly hes cute but i guess saying he is so belle ladie sounds way better haha
I love Adrian Brody. I also like Joaquin Phoenix. And Jason Schwartzman. Toni Collete is my favorite lady. I think Belle Laides applies to all these folks. This might be my husband too. I posted a recent photo of us on my blog so you can see if it applies.
I don't think anyone on that list is a "belle laide", except for maybe Sarah Jessica Parker and Jay Z.
IMO Tom Hiddleston, Steve Buscemi are belle laide. edit- also Dirk Kuyt.
I can't decide if Colin Morgan and Rupert Grint are belle laide, or if they're actually ridiculously hot.
Jay is just fugly. Nothing redeemable about him aside from a handful of songs and his wealth. Oh, and Beyonce.
Karen O? XD Must be her outfit, her makeup, and her haircut--I know her face structure is pretty generic. Nevertheless, she's a cool singer.
