On June 20, I published a post entitled
50 Reasons To Have Sex. My 33rd reason was "Blowjob Week is over (ie you're finally off your period)."
In response, Ride_Every_Stride commented, "The only one I'm WTF-ing is 33 - blowjob week? You're funny. I'm not going to punish myself because you don't want to get a little blood on your d*ck."
First off, I'd like to point out that I am 100% female and as such am not equipped with a penis. But the comment did get me thinking about period sex.
I've never had sex while I'm on my period. I do get horny occasionally when I'm on my period. Thankfully, I am not one of those women who gets violent menstrual cramps and just has to stay in bed all week. Sure, I'll get kind of moody. But physically, I'm generally fine, although I get cramps occasionally.
So why I haven't had it? Honestly, the whole idea kind of grosses me out. Sure, I could have it in the shower, but it just sounds too messy.
Despite this, I've always wanted to try it at least once.
Apparently, period sex is pretty good for you, as it may relieve menstrual cramps. Many women are super-horny during their periods (although of course many really REALLY aren't.) Also, you're least likely to get pregnant on your period - but that much blood there is also makes it more attractive for STDs, so don't try period sex without a condom.
Also, when you orgasm, you push out more blood and thus your period may be shorter.
I've never had an orgasm, but this is just another reason I'd like one.
My mood on this changes when I'm on my period. Some days I really want to, some days I don't. But I've never asked my boyfriend about this, so I don't know how he feels about the whole affair.
So maybe it'll happen one day, and maybe it won't. I'll let you know if it does.

I've done it. I don't mind it at all. I'm not going to let some blood turn me away from sex. Just use towels preferably not white. Or try doing it in the shower. The clean up is easier. Also, make sure to use a towel to avoid slipping. Having sex while on your period is a personal thing. If you don't want to do it, fine, and if you do, that's fine, too.
i will only do it when it's in the shower, other wise no sex for me when i'm on my period. i don't like the mess.
i'm generally not one to care about female o's, but since you are seeing only one person (or at least, so you tell us)--i think we should all focus less on the topic at hand, and more on how to help you o. you're missing out on life.
then again, i probably o frequently enough to feed a whole football team protein shakes, so maybe there needs to be some conservation of o-ing or something.
I only do it when it's my last few days because my flow isn't so heavy, haha.

I'm usually horniest right before my period, so we do it probably when my period is starting. Then the day that my period is heaviest, my cat hurts too much to do it anyway, so f that. The last few days when I'm on the browns, we start up again. So all in all, we really miss 2, maybe 3 days (I have an short/light period yay!)
I'm monogamously married and will have all the dirty, bloody, condom-free period sex my husband will give me. Which isn't much. haha Your pain tolerance shoots up during arousal; great for cramps. Has no noticeable affect on the length of my period. lol We almost always throw a towel under us when we have sex.

It is a bit messy but I really enjoy period sex! Physically I'm more sensitive during my period so everything is intensified, which is quite nice!

I have no earthly idea how lady time sex could help with menstrual cramps. Really, what is sex, anyway? A phallic item being jammed into you over and over and over and over, etc., different depths and intensity at different times, but all the time. How does that make sense to anyone?
I do know one thing - I'm one of the unlucky few who is stuck in bed all week. At least, I was until I was finally put on birth control when I was in college. As a guy, I actually don't really care. Although I am not currently in a relationship, none of my previous sexual partners (albeit a minuscule number) have ever asked to have sex during their periods, although a majority of my female friends are rather conservative. That's not me trying to say anything about conservative girls other than the belief that they worry to much about how their partners feel.
I'll do it because it helps my cramps - I feel so much better after sex., haha. If the guy finds it gross, I'll just use a vibrator - problem solved.
