Ever heard of the Marshalls? If you're a plastic surgeon, you should go look them up.
According to
The Huffington Post, the Marshalls are the most cosmetically enhanced family in Britain. Mom Chantal and 4 of her daughters, aged 20 - 31, all have boob jobs. Between them, they have spent
£50,000 on breast augmentation, according to UK newspaper
The Sun. At today's exchange rate, that's $77,335.
Now, that amount of boob jobs in a family is a little creepy to me. Chantal's breasts, 4th from the right in the photo above, look completely unnatural. But Chantal loves them. So much that she's pushing for 14-year-old daughter Britney to get one when she's 18,
despite the fact that Britney's not sure if she wants one.
Britney seems like a normal 14-year-old girl.
The Daily Mail reports that she wants to travel the world, work in business, and be the first in her family to go to college. She says she would consider breast augmentation in the future. But right now, she "just wants to focus on [her] schoolwork."
Most mothers would be delighted, but not Chantal. She even told
The Sun, "At the moment she doesn't really have what I would say are boobs - but I'd like her to follow in her sister's footsteps."
Britney and her total lack of boobage is pictured below:
Yeah. She has plenty of cleavage for a 14-YEAR-OLD girl.
I try not to make comments about other people's parenting, but this is a little insane. A 14-year-old has enough body image issues as is, and her mom and older sisters telling her she should get bigger breasts certainly doesn't help. Props to Britney for standing up to her crazy giant-boobed family.
As for the father? Chantal and he separated 12 years ago, and his opinion is not mentioned in the articles about the Marshall women. The boys, however, aren't big on the idea. Chantal has 4 sons, aged 15 - 24, and some have encouraged Britney to keep her breasts au naturel.
Good to see at least some people in this family are normal.

This reminds me of Roald Dahl's book "Matilda". Very loosely so. But, still.
They have extreme opinions on chest size. I'm ten years older than her and she has bigger boobs than me!
I agree with you. Her mother is nuts for wanting her to 14 year old daughter to have breast implants. Her breasts are still growing, and I don't think it is wrong to not get implants. Her mother seems to have her priorities mixed up.
This story is incredibly popular for some reason. I believe this is the third time a post has been done about the mother wanting her 14 year old daughter to get implants. First, thetheologiancafe, then akinnison, and you. Anyway, the mother's an idiot. The rest of the girls are following in mama's footsteps. Thank goodness the 14 year old has more sense than the rest of the family.
TheologiansCafe did a post on this last week (as said above). Anyway, I still think the 14-year old has sense and looks good. Fake a big is not always better. It also makes me think she is less shallow and more intelligent than he family.
Not to mention he hair looks sorta red, which is awesome
Why are we giving these people their 15 minutes? Seriously, there are families with worse problems than a mother wanting her daughter to get breast implants. Unless the mother drugs her and takes her against her will and gets them done this is only slightly worse than mothers who think their daughters should wear make-up, dress like a girl, be a beauty pageant contestant, etc. etc. This is no different than any teenage girl deciding for herself how she should look/
i kind of think the girl 4th from the right has the most natural-looking tits, actually. (girl in the black...ew.) and she's incidentally also the most attractive. too bad she's british.
The article says the mom wants her daughter to get them done at 18, not now at 14. Still all quite silly and is The Sun a British tabloid? Is it a legitimate paper?
@TiredSoVeryTired@xanga - The Sun is in no way a "proper" newspaper, like you said it's a trashy tabloid. This story has been covered in several papers though, but all of them tabloids. I think it's just a way of getting the family their fifteen minutes of fame.
the part we all grasp is that yes, a 14 year old is too young to get implants. that, and her family's history of enhancement is what we all find sensational.
this is not the important part.
what we are supposed to accept is that kids are exposed to all sorts of things that they cannot have until they grow up. drivers license. independence. the right to vote or drink. tattoos.
as with all these things, it is probably better to not automatically say someone can't have something. because we are supposed to be accepting of other people's decisions. even if we don't agree with them. we just do the best we can to convince young people that they need to be really sure before making significant decisions.
we can go ahead and say 'please don't get implants yet,' but ultimately it's their decision. it's the right for any woman to get implants, and i as a man am supposed to respect their choices, even if i privately disagree. i am personally glad this young lady is not terribly interested in getting them, and i hope other women do not feel undue pressure to get them, but societal pressure works both ways and it's something that humans have to learn to resist regardless.
i would actually love to meet all the sisters and the mom. i think they would be a lot of fun. and no, not in a dirty way. gotta respect the brass it takes to make these choices.
Sometimes big boobs just make people look heavier, not sexier.
Why do we care about what some British mother wants her daughter to do to her own body in 4 years?
It's the Sun.
Of course it's in the Sun.
*sighs.
i had a thought earlier today. isn't korea like 100x worse than this? i seem to recall it being the standard that mothers will tell their daughters to get surgery on their eyes to have them widened.
someone correct me if that's all wrong--i just have some recollection that korea is the most plastic country in the world. i remember watching a short documentary in undergrad, following a girl who claimed she did it of her own volition, but acknowledged that her mother had been pressuring her since she was quite young. right, your own volition for sure...roll eyes.
Scary stuff! I think the mom IS a boob. The sisters have a career at Hooters or a stripper pole waiting for them. Funny, it's usually the good parents trying to talk their kids out of such a foolish idea.
Let the lions and tigers loose on them.
No, you're not being too harsh. The mother and her sisters are what is wrong with society today.
crazy family
Totally agree. The mom will ruin the girl's self-image and create more insecurities for her. besides the girl's breasts aren't fully developed at 14 =.= being au natural is the way to go!
She has more cleavage than I did when I was 14! O.o She's not going to have a problem in the boob department in the future.
They got their 15 minutes of fame.
She's beautiful and has great boobs. screw the mom....and sisters
This is ridiculous. You do NOT teach kids at that age to rely on surgeries or anything of the sort. She's barely a teenager, for crying out loud ! I'm sixteen, and I can't even imagine myself getting a boob job, and my boobs are smaller than hers. Can't people just be satisfied with what they have ?
man that would cost more money on them to get resized on bras
I think Britney should be able to make her own desicions... I think that she should keep them the way they are and her mom is stupid. She's only 14 years old. At least let her wait until she's 18.
