• Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Divorce

  
  Can’t say I’m sad about this one. The “Holme of Cruise” is no longer, as Katie announced she was divorcing Tom today. The end of the five year marriage is sounding a bit unfriendly as it is understood Holmes has filed for sole custody of the most photographed 6 year old child in celeb-land, Suri Cruise. 
  
  
  The division of the couples $275 million royalties, primarily earned by Tom’s excellent acting skills, should be relatively straightforward. The couple made the sensible decision to sign the most unromantic document ever created, “The Pre-nup”, before they married in 2006. Katie should be entitled to $15 million ($3 mill for every year of marriage) as well as the couple's $35 million Beverly Hills mansion, The Daily Mail reports. 

  
  

  The relationship has been pockmarked with a succession of cringe-worthy events. No one will forget Tom’s decision to jump like a maniac on Oprah’s sofa declaring his undying love for Katie, mere months into their romance. Rumors of a Scientology-induced “silent birth,” and subsequent whisperings that Holmes wasn’t actually pregnant, had the media speculating that Suri was imported from a foreign country. Tom’s recent W Magazine cover, with full eye make up and “totally natural” six pack, is said to have infuriated Katie, 33. To be honest, it was kind of deathly for a 49 year old dad.

  The split does not come as a big suprise. Bets on divorce have been circulating for years, and the couple has not been photographed together in months.
