• Fetish of the Week: Somnophilia

  

  Somnophilia is often referred to as the Sleeping Beauty syndrome... or being sexually aroused by a sleeping person. Seems fairly self-explanatory, right?

  People who have somnophilia are often aroused by the waking up of a sleeping person, either through sensual caresses or otherwise. Being in close proximity to a sleeping person may stir up sexual urges as well. 

   

  I came across a post on a psychology forum about the author's boyfriend masturbating while she was asleep, inching closer to her. He often became the most aroused when he was sure she was sleeping. 

   

  "On occasion he has also moved close to me and pressed his hard on on my back, he will put his hand on me and if I move (thinking the first few times he was interested in having sex) he would stop and hold still."

   

  It seems a simple, almost understandable fetish to find it arousing to masturbate next to a loved one without them knowing--albeit it's a little on the creepy side. 

   

  Now that I think about it, my ex would often caress me in his sleep, though he was actually doing it in his sleep... and it was often a welcomed surprise.
