In the first few weeks of a human sexuality class I took last year, our professor asked us to do a writing response in which we talked about where we learned most of what we know about sex. A good chunk of the class responded with family members or friends. My roommate and I responded with TV shows.
We're a product of our generation, I guess. Friends taught me what "going commando" really means. Sex and the City introduced me to "the rabbit" and sexual expression.
I'm by no means an expert on anything but when I give my friends some dating advice, I can't help reflecting on where I learned most of it from--movies, TV shows, and books.
Where did you learn most of what you know about sex?

Pure instinct here. Most of life involves re-learning things you already know.
this is a confusing question (in conjunction with the post). everyone learns what they know about sex the same way: by doing it. a lot.
as for terminologies like "houdini", that shit always comes from urban dictionary, duh. here's another one of my favorites: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=shocker&defid=1910356
Checking her fever, with two in the beaver
Two at Yale, one at Brown
Two in the Bush, one in the Cheney
Two in the Hot Pocket, one in the shit socket
Two to consummate, one to constipate
Two where the cocks cum, one where she talks from
Two where she menstruates, one where she defecates
Two in her vaginal opening, one where it needs soaping
...and so on. (my high school days were clearly well-spent.)

I make love like an eagle falling out of the sky.
seeing softcore porn on tv/movies of the top naked sweaty half of their bodies fondling each other and kissing
then I noticed how my family members would act weird and fast forward the sexy parts when I was there, so I knew something was up. then I figured it out
Lol...fanfiction.
Television. Friends talking about it. No adult ever sat me down to explain anything. So that's that. lol. I was pretty naive about sex for the longest time. Thought blow jobs were nasty and hadn't even heard of a man going down on me til ages later. So naive, definitely.
Experience and the interwebz.
haha... porn
4chan.
Romance novels but they did not have accurate content, :P. I learned this and how to have sex..in a pleasurable fashion.. from actually doing it.
Friends, porn, books, and came the internet.
Like besides just the basics which I learned from my mom, I learned from books, tv shows, doing it with my ex, talking to friends about it, and experience. I remember the first time a guy asked me to give him head I was so confused. I did not know that was an actual thing. I thought you either had sex or you made out. I was also only 14 and he was like 17 and I didn't do it.
I had sex ed in school every single year from Kindergarten through the 8th grade.
The internet, people at school..
I was molested as a kid. Then I read science books about the mechanics of it, sort of helped me work through the molestation by making it "dry" and intellectual.
Then there were teen novels, and romance novels. then real live boys! I prefer hands on learning experiences!
My cousin explained it all to me.

What aspect of sex? Where did we learn how to do it? Where did we learn what it was for? Where did we learn our values from?
My sexual values I feel sort of developed from my own feelings as I grew and evolved and learned about boys. It's a silly excuse to say, 'oh TV told me it's okay' or 'The bible says wait till marriage!'. I've chosen my own preference and I'm sticking to it. Of course I obtained knowledge from TV, Parents, School and peers... but in the end, I didn't obtain what I learned from any one source-- I got it from me.
What it was for, I learned in school. mwa ha ha ha. Manparts I learned from da internet. Since the internet is for porn.
As for how to do it, DUHHHH Cosmo mag. And by that I mean, just kidding. I guess some people are just born natural. Personally, I found sex a lot easier than I heard it was made out to be.

Practice = ]
I learnt most of it from TV- when I was about 9 I love staying up to watch Sex and the City and Ally McBeal, and have always watched a lot of educational shows about biology and psychology, including ones about sex. More specific knowledge I have learnt from reading articles, studies etc. on the internet. It's not that I never talk to my family or friends about sex, just that most of the information came from these sources. :P
