  • The Unsolicitied "Sext"

Last semester I was texting with a cute guy that I was seeing from my math class. We had hooked up that weekend, but I wasn't sure if I was still into him because I thought that he was too aggressive sexually (...He bit my neck and there was blood, like, a lot of blood). We hadn't seen each other in a few days and he was telling me via text what a good time he had and that he wanted to hang out again soon.

Then seemingly out of nowhere (because we were not "sexting" prior to this) he sends me a picture of his "goods".

My initial response? Shock. I mean, I wasn't texting anything to him that even remotely suggested that I needed a reference guide to his hardware.

I asked my two close girlfriends if anything like this had ever happened to them, and they both said that it did. One said that a guy that she met online and was getting ready to meet had randomly sent her a picture of "what she could be expecting that weekend", completely unprompted. My other friend said that this guy she was mildly dating would often send her "glory" shots of his penis.

I realize that it is different for men and women. Personally I do not find that getting these unsolicited photographs to be a turn-on, but I realize that it is a HUGE turn-on for guys to randomly get naked shots of their girls because they are more visual creatures.

Have you ever been "sexting-ambushed" via text? Why do men feel the need to send shots of their "goods"?
