Last semester I was texting with a cute guy that I was seeing from my math class. We had hooked up that weekend, but I wasn't sure if I was still into him because I thought that he was too aggressive sexually (...He bit my neck and there was blood, like, a lot of blood). We hadn't seen each other in a few days and he was telling me via text what a good time he had and that he wanted to hang out again soon.
Then seemingly out of nowhere (because we were not "sexting" prior to this) he sends me a picture of his "goods".
My initial response? Shock. I mean, I wasn't texting anything to him that even remotely suggested that I needed a reference guide to his hardware.
I asked my two close girlfriends if anything like this had ever happened to them, and they both said that it did. One said that a guy that she met online and was getting ready to meet had randomly sent her a picture of "what she could be expecting that weekend", completely unprompted. My other friend said that this guy she was mildly dating would often send her "glory" shots of his penis.
I realize that it is different for men and women. Personally I do not find that getting these unsolicited photographs to be a turn-on, but I realize that it is a HUGE turn-on for guys to randomly get naked shots of their girls because they are more visual creatures.
Have you ever been "sexting-ambushed" via text? Why do men feel the need to send shots of their "goods"?

Guys who send shots of their goods typically make the mistake that women think like them. The mindset is, "Oh gee, she'll find it sexy because I find it sexy when women send me nude pics. If I like it, then she must like it too. MY LOGIC IS UNASSAILABLE"
peens are unattractive. I'm totally not turned on by a picture of a dude's junk. Send me a booty shot or a picture highlighting your abs, or even a slightly suggestive holding a towel over it pose, but please refrain from sending full on junk pics.
Are you dating anthony wiener?
Send him back a picture of pink flowers and hearts. If he doesn't get the point that what turns him on is not the same as what turns you on, leave him.
Yeah, I've been ambushed... And this is from a guy I haven't been seeing or even hooked up with... Totally unsolicited... Does he think that if I wasn't interested in him then, that I would be interested in him now that he showed me his tent?
Yeah, guys do this often... Sometimes it's ok. I mean, at least if you're interested in the guy, you know what he is working with. =P lol. But when guys do it just random like "hey, here is my dick. You so want it."... I get annoyed. -_-' Like really? Put your dick back in your pants. pfft.
@starcrossedloversdivine@xanga - Haha, I know, right? Personally, I used to have one of my ex-boyfriends send me pictures of his hands. IDK, that's just me! Haha!
I think I understand the move as a guy. Not that we necessarily think that you like the pictures, but if you're an awkard guy, it can be a fast and easy way of taking the conversation to another level and making a strong statement about what you want.
Sadly, this has happened to me too. And I've learned that when a guy that you haven't really reached a sexual level with sends you a picture of his dick, he's only interested in having sex with you. So, unless you're only looking for a friends with benefits relationship with him, there's no point in responding, or if you do, only respond to tell him you're no longer interested.
On the other hand, if my fiance sent me a picture of his... oh i'd like it;) But in a lot of ways, I think like a guy.
Ohhhh my god if a guy bit me and drew blood I would get the HELL out of there and scream for him to never contact me again. @_@
bit your neck enough for it to bleed?? Turn off for me..
Yeah I hate opening a text message and seeing a cock.
Oh my .. no words on that
Sort of. This guy who was a friend of a friend tried getting overly friendly, and would send shirtless pics or just pictures of himself a lot. I luckily never got a shot quite like that! I stopped it when he sent me a photo of a ziploc full of weed and I feigned straight-edge outrage so he stopped sending pics (and talking to me at all, for that matter) after that
He bit your neck and there was blood. Was he a vampire?
EW HE BIT YOUR NECK AND THERE WAS ALOT OF BLOOD? WTF :'( this gives me chills just reading that. That would scare the shit out of me lol, I'd like never talk to him again.
and I think every girl has been ambushed on the planet lol
How is the sext picture more of an issue than the bloody neck sex ?
I've gotten "sexts" pics and vids
they were totally expected and he was super hot. it wasn't just of his goods. he teased me and sent me of him wearing his dress shirt that revealed his abs
then he was modeling in his boxers, and then I gradually got the money shot
I also got pics of him wearing clothes and he is too damn fine not to take pics of himself, so I understand and welcome the eyecandy
I like him, so I don't think he's arrogant, but sexy and charming
if I didn't like the guy, then I would be turned off by all of this of course. I personally like looking at his member if I think he's hot. vids are hotter than still pics
I've gotten live action vids
I've reciprocated
(don't tell anyone)
Uh, totally NOT a turn-on.
Pretty sure most girls have gone through this, lol. I casually dated this guy about four years ago, and we recently got back in touch on Facebook - most days I get a text from him (that I ignore) talking about hooking up, sex, or his penis, lol. It's just a MASSIVE turn off.
There is no occasion where I'd want a penis pic. It's not visually attractive. Send me a pic of your abs/chest (as long as it is nice).
I love texts like that, they show me who I shouldn't be wasting my time on.
i find it unappealing. jeez its like they have nothing better to do >_>
Yep, i've had it happen, more than once. Some guys get turned on by "text flashing". Kinda like a flasher on the street.
My ex used to send me pictures and I'd send him pictures like that. I wasn't turned off by his pictures though haha. We also dated for four years and the pictures didn't happen until after we were officially dating and had been for a few months. We dated long distance, too. If a guy randomly sent me a picture of his junk, I'd probably delete his number very quickly or have a very long laugh about it.
