A Positive Look on Valentine's Day
In the past, all of my Valentine's Days have been sub-par, if not tragic. However, this year couldn't have been more different. All day, I was in a semi bad mood, because my boyfriend lives 3 hours away. I knew there was no way I could see him, as I was at college and I was bummed out about it.
So, I tried to cheer myself up by watching Disney movies and eating cookies with my friend Jordan. Near the end of The Princess and the Frog, she told me another friend wanted to see me. She lured me out of my dorm room. She later excused herself, saying she had to use the bathroom.
She came back after a long time, and said she was sick, and asked to get her keys out of my room. When I walked into my room, there my boyfriend Nathaniel was, with a huge glittery sign that said, "BE MY VALENTINE?" and a teddy bear.
My reaction of course was to scream like an idiot and get ridiculously excited. Though I only got to see him for a few hours, it was so nice.
The point I am trying to make with this story? If I hadn't had so many horrible Valentine's Days, I don't think I would have appeciated this one as much. It made it more special than it already was. If you had a bad Valentine's Day, look forward to the future. I assure you, it will be brighter someday.

One time on valentine's day my girlfriend at the time queefed so hard it rattled her inner thighs. Never been another V-Day like that.
I really don't think most people are bothered by the idea of Valentine's day, they're just bothered by the idea of spending it alone.
I kind of feel stupid everytime Valentines Day rolls around, because I just get really excited. Everyone bitches that it's just a day to spend money for the big companies to make money, and "why do you need one day to show someone you love them? what's wrong with you that you can't love them everyday?". Well you know what? Fuck that. I do love everyone every day of the year, but you know what? Nobody has the money, time, ideas, or give a shit to shower people with presents (no matter how small) all the time. And for that, there's Valentines Day.
What's so wrong with one day a year where I can wear way too much red, eat chocolate, and show and be shown that people love me? Maybe we shouldn't celebrate birthdays, either. Cause shouldn't you appreciate being alive EVERYDAY?
Either way, even for my 19 single years I was a little excited by Valentines Day because my mom still bought me little things, I ate heart shaped candy and it was just a nice day.
And now that I have a boyfriend and this year we were togteher (as opposed to last year where I was 3 hours away for school) it was just so exciting. All my friends think it's lame and don't bother with anything. But you know what? I've never had a boyfriend before on valentines day, I've never been bought a stupid stuffed animal and flowers and chocolates, and I'm going to enjoy myself. And when I got home at 11:30 that night and got my Comet chocolate and stuffed hedgehog, I was very, very happy.
So, everyone can suck it!

last valentine's day I bought my boyfriend a star. yes, on international star registry, named it for him and everything. he broke up with me a couple days before the actual day, for an honestly stupid reason involving his ex. that was a sucky vday. This year, new bf and I are planning to go away to the beach to celebrate vday (after the fact because we both are busy with work). It's gonna be awesome.
My boyfriend did that for me my Freshman year one time...aww!

I think I'd appreciate the holiday if there was less pink.I mean, is there a worse reminder that you dislike the color-to shove it in your face like that? I do appreciate the candy sales though.
