I Wish I Were a Gold Digger
When I was younger, I used to really really look down on girls that would dig gold. I felt that it was "mean" and "immoral." I thought oh so highly of myself and felt that I was too moral to even think about doing such a thing. Well, I grew up and realized how hard it is to make it on your own. Being an adult for the past 2 years hasn't been fun at all. Suddenly, I can understand the gold diggers! Why work so hard when you can use your looks to lock some sucker down? As they say, it's best to work with what you have.
Best scenario is that you get the guy to not bring up the whole prenuptial agreement thing. Even if he does, you have alimony and child support on your side. Is it really wrong? I don't think so. It's a fair exchange. The nerdy, awkward, and rich guy gets a hot wife and the hot and lazy girl can get supported through life and just sit on her ass. Sounds pretty sweet to me. Heck a lot of guys these days wouldn't mind a sugar momma.
And for the guys that don't have a clue about what's going on, too bad for them for being so slow. I feel like if I really wanted to, I could pull off the gold digging thing. I would just have to invest in a nice high quality set of boobs (no half circle ones please), quit my demanding job, put on the cake face, and go to a lot of clubs/bars/parties in rich areas. But unfortunately for me, it's just not my style.
Gold digging still doesn't seem like an ideal situation unless the guy is rich, decent looking, loyal, and super nice. After all, I would still want to do as I please. I sometimes fantasize about this kind of life but that's it. As of now, I'm happy for all the happy gold diggers out there that could pull it off!
Disclaimer: I have yet to date a guy whose finances are in better shape than mine, and I'm just a poor struggling career person.

Exactly how many women think. If you can marry more money in a minute than make in ten years by working, why bother working?

The flip side, however, is that those same rich guys often "trade up" for hotter, younger women once you've gone past your prime. Karma's a bitch.

I'm pretty sure every gold-digger has said this at some point in her life.
As far as I'm concerned, gold-digging ain't cool, but neither is taking advantage of innocent women.
And a word of advice to the male readers... the sentiments described here are probably shared by about 95% of the women out there, and that's a conservative estimate.
If I found a woman who was drop dead gorgeous, intelligent, kind hearted and witty, I wouldn't think twice about digging her gold.
You're kind of a bitch. Good luck finding anyone at all that would put up with you long enough to marry. (It ain't going to happen.)
I keep my secret wannabe-a-gold-digger thoughts to myself so people don't know i'm doing it. also, it makes me look INCREDIBLY DUMB.
Sorry. My money is for my use only. The only person I spend money on is myself, period, end of story. Buy your own damn dinner. Buy your own jewelry, etc. because I refuse to do it for you.
Oh, and if I *did* happen to get married, I'd force my wife and I to have separate bank accounts. That way if/when we divorced, no dividing up assets. I keep mine, she keeps hers, and we're all good.
There's nothing wrong with gold digging as long as you're honest and the men know you don't love them. But what woman would want to live like that? I enjoy having respect from people, and being a gold digger wouldn't get me that far.

While I find gold diggers shallow, materialistic, and pathetic, what does that say about the well-off men who are willing to pay for them? Both parties know what the real deal is. It's a trade-off. Besides, what two consenting adults do is none of my business.
Sidenote: It's a stereotype, but Asian girls are supposedly quite materialistic. (Btw, don't bite my head off.) That's a common stereotype I hear a lot.

I wouldn't do it...I rather stay poor and independant. I think pleasing someone and being that cute little wife is in the end harder than work. I mean you basically work 24/7. *shudders*. Guys are usually only into looks, so there are probabaly many willing to pay for it. But if someone actually plays with them (and they don't know) it's cruel.

i wish my boyfriend was a bit of a gold digger... i am going to travel across the country 2-3 times in my medical education (medical school, residency and fellowship are never guaranteed to be close to each other) and i would give anything to be able to just scoop him up and take him with me for those years instead of having him holding down a steady, respectable teaching job in one place. i would pay any sum of money in the world just to have him there when i get home to say hello and have a cup of coffee with.
the grass is always greener on the other side, eh! ha ha ha.
The research shows that rich guys are more likely to cheat. Besides, once you're old and no longer hot in his eyes, he'll dump you for someone younger. Gold digging is not a viable long-term solution.

@StatelessPilot@revelife - Hey dude... no worries, women who want to keep accounts separate and believe in the "what's mine is mine and yours is yours" mentality are out there. My girlfriend (who I plan to marry) is like that and I couldn't be happier. Jewelry, dinner, whatever she wants, she spends her own money on, and the same is for me. Granted, we plan to pool expenses together on major and PRACTICAL expenses like a house, but I'm sure you get the gist. A pre-nup was also her idea too.

shit if i was single i'd be a gold digger. ive said that a million times, and if i was old and had some cash i would find me some young woman to be my girl. as long as the person knows then its fine. but lying is not cool.
