Even Though I'm Famous Now, Don't Worry, Fans, I'll Never Forget The Little People
Over the weekend, I contacted TJ the DJ from Elvis Duran and the Morning Show via Twitter. I tweeted at him, shooting him the link to my site, www.JenAndMen.com and told him that I think he'd enjoy reading my blog.
He actually answered – and told me that he loved my blog and thinks I have the talent and ambition it takes to make it as a writer in a big-time magazine like Cosmo.

Anyway, long story short, he let me talk about a particularly bad date on the radio (I knew that South African bastard was worth something!). I thought it was going to be for a minute or so. Instead, I had a TWELVE-MINUTE live interview during a prime-time slot on one of the most listened to radio stations out there – z100! Listen here:
and
Elvis, TJ, and Carolina Bermudez all said the name of my site on the air and I received 3,000 hits that day alone! I'm telling you all this for three reasons: (1) To let my bosses, Eugenia and Kenny, and my true readers know that it's finally happening for me and to say "Thank you for all your support!" (2) To say it out loud because I've been jumping up and down for days! and (3) To shout out an evil MWA HA HA to all of my "fans" who do nothing but wish bad upon my career. I guess all your hexing failed! See you in Cosmo, suckers :P
Datingish (my lovers and haters), I couldn't have done it without you! (That was total sincerity, by the way – so don't read it sarcastically!)
Lots of love,
–Jen from www.JenAndMen.com

Coming from someone who religiously tunes into Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, I'm extremely disappointed in them. However, they do love the sleaze and you fit right in. :)
I thought you left?
You had an unpaid interview on the radio. Good job; you're in the big leagues now.
You're right, this is big news. When's your celebrity sex-tape coming out?
4 things:
1) Cosmo? Really? Your aspirations for a writing career are THAT low?
2) My ears are bleeding just listening to ten seconds of that interview.
3) I met a famous football player. Does that make me famous now, too?
4) I met a guy who does a local podcast and had a beer with him. He also wrote on my Facebook wall. Does that also make me famous?
everyone who leaves a negative comment here is an idiot. all you do is encourage her to write more inane articles. why do i feel like i was the only one who realized this after her 3rd post?
@chicbananas@xanga - you know, i thought about this--with 20 million people in the metro area, i think 3000 hits in one day is actually really good for a no-name writer. even if 1 million people listen to z100's morning show, she got .3% of that audience. and i feel like 1 million people is a lot for one radio station, so that percentage goes up if you assume a smaller listening audience.
@TheNotoriousGOD@xanga - I never actually had a huge problem with her. An interview is more than what a lot of people have, but I just feel like if you're going to do a "HA!" post, you should do one with something that would really put people in their place. This is just underwhelming.
This is the Xanga equivalent of this:

I've been here long enough to see plenty of "Fuck you Xanga, paayyyceee" blogs, but this one is by far the best.
Your voice totally doesn't fit what I thought it'd be. Good job though! That's exciting :)
Well hey, congrats for getting somewhere instead of just being all talk.
Any fame or success that is gained through the bashing or slandering of others has no significant basis. If you want to spread your voice of doom and gloom, your welcome to. That's your opinion and you have your right to share it.
I got 30 seconds into the video and stopped, "I want to let everyone know how much guys suck,".
Jen I actually and honestly feel bad for you. You've created this image of the male gender in your mind and you're fixating upon it. And whatever you fixate or focus on is what your going to continually get. Hopefully someday you'll learn that not all men are terrible and that you should focus on the positive. From what I've seen from your posts, you're not being positive, optimistic, or motivated, it's selective denial. I'm not going to try to change that because that's something you'll have to come to on your own, it may not even ever happen but I hope that's not the case.
Perhaps one day you'll learn but until then, karma is going to continually punish you. This is the last time I'm gonna comment on one of these because frankly, there are plenty of other things that deserve my attention and your posts certainly don't fall anywhere within that realm.
haven't you gone yet?
Sounds exciting! Congrats!
All the Negative Nancys in here need to can it... This girl is aspiring to write for Cosmo!
...which is exactly where her poorly written, repetitive, self-absorbed bullshit belongs.
Seriously honey, if that's as far as you ever want to go in life, I feel sorry for you. It certainly suits you. You thrive on attention, but you don't care if it's positive or negative. You embrace the haters because you'd rather that than nothing. In fact, most of the posts of yours that I've read revolve around ripping into other people, so if THAT'S what you're going to build your career on... enjoy the trashy tabloid fame. You deserve it.
That's cool. Congrats and good luck!
seriously, most of us don't give a shit.
Congratulations. I just wish you had higher aspirations than Cosmo magazine.
Cosmo? People still read that shit? Good for you, I guess. Just thought you wanted, you know, a career.
as much as i have some serious problems with cosmo, if that's what you want, go for it. congratulations for being on the radio - paid or not, that's impressive and it's great publicity for your site.
UGH. There goes my Cosmo subscription. They're vapid enough without you...
LMFAO @ this blog.
@Lost_In_Reverie@xanga - so you told the negative nancys to take a hike and then wrote something negative? you're a winner.
You see, Jenn, here's the thing: people are jealous of successful people like you and me. Those of us who actually go out and make something of ourselves, like you've done? Yeah, they'll hate on us. Get used to it, because it's been happening to me for years.
Your success is well-deserved. I think you're a great writer and you really know how to engage the reader, and encite a little emotion on the side. That's why you'll go far in the business. People hate seeing people succeed, for some reason, and that's why you're hated.
Congratulations, Jenn. I'll gladly give you a great reference if you ever need it.
@SpOnTaNeOuS_sPiTbAlL@xanga - It was sarcasm...
@SpOnTaNeOuS_sPiTbAlL@xanga - That awkward moment when your sarcasm is so effective, people actually think you're stupid.
