• Lost Love

  

  The winter wind whispers through the twisted blackened pine like a long lost love buried by denial and pain. My sapphire eyes brim with the fresh tears that were bottled by a sea of shame. I feel the ache inside awaken from the vault of unwanted memories. The way you touched me never failed to captivate my body's unnerving response. You dance around me the way the snowflakes sashay to the frozen Earth below. In a saddened moment I surrender my heart to the agonizing reminder of all we had.

  Nothing compares to your comforting voice but all is done because mistakes made can never be undone. The moon so indulgently full hanging in a sky of violet blue casts your shadow and tricks me into believing you have come back to me but my illusion is only torture on my wounded soul. You said forever yet you lied but though I've hid it well I have gone on loving you to this day.

  When night falls and I am all alone I come to a quiet place and let you back in even though you're so far away from me. It makes me bleed internally when I think of you out there sharing your passion with someone else. When you said goodbye a part of me up and died. Your smile haunts me and your last words flow endlessly. No one seems to intrigue me the way you did. Wherever you are I want you to know I still need you in my life. I'm sorry I was wrong and I crave your presence here by my side but I guess I must force myself to let you go even if it kills me.
