  • Stop It! You're Associating Food With Sex!

Anyone a fan of foodporndaily.com? I love falling into FoodPornDaily Comas, clicking through what seems like an endless collection of food snapshots. The other day my boyfriend and I were doing homework. I was sitting next to him and started grabbing his thigh, squeezing it every time an exquisite dish stuck out to me. I wasn't aware I was doing it until he smacked my hand off and jokingly said, "Stop it! You're totally associating food with sex!"

"It's not like I think about Chipotle while we have sex," I retorted. "Foodgasms and orgasms are clearly in two different categories."

    Well, actually, are they?

Thinking about the pseudo word "foodgasm" and the site FoodPornDaily made me think about the association between food and sex. To me, sex is the ultimate way to make my body feel physically great, one of the best ways to feel physical pleasure. There are also plenty of ways to change up how you have sex. Emotionally, it is both exciting and comforting, and often leaves me really tired at the end.

In college, I discovered my love for food. I loved eating all different types of food from all different cuisines--each new dish is exciting and can be prepared in many different ways. Each time I eat a delicious dish, I get pleasure from it, not in the same magnitude I get from having sex, but pleasure nonetheless. If I eat too much I fall into the dreaded Food Coma stage and can fall asleep easily in a happy state of mind.

Does food turn you on? Do you ever associate food and sex?
