Anniversary & My Meaning of Love
Our anniversary dinner.
Today my BF and I celebrated our 2 years together. It was lovely. We didn't do anything too crazy, just a special romantic dinner celebrated with wine.
Throughout the years I had my definition of love.
1. Be financially & emotionally ready.
2. Help each other grow and improve as a person and a couple.
3. Knowing that their flaws are what attracts you to them the most.
As time has passed, my definition of "What love means to me" hasn't changed much...just a bit more elaborated. I might change the last one though.
"Accepting each other's flaws and habits."
Since my BF and I have been together, he has provided me beyond my meaning of love in more ways than one. As a girl, we get together with our girlfriends and someone is bound to ask, "How do I know if he's the one?" The answer to that question is simple...If you have to ask that question then he isn't the one, because when he's "the one" you'll already know. And, instead of asking that question you should be saying "He's the one!" with gusto.
I look forward to many many more joyous years. I love you.

Let me say CONGRATULATIONS on the two year anniversary; certainly not an easy feat these days.
I will disagree, partially, on one point though. I think it's fairly normal for people to have a shred of doubt when they're been with someone for so long and to even ask, "Is this person the one?". In some ways it keeps things in perspective and it gives one an opportunity to take stock of the relationship and each individual in it. However, if a person is constantly questioning and doubting a relationship then that's where they need to take a step back and go work on themselves as well as their insecurities.
But also on that point I think people need to keep something else in mind when they ask the questions of "Is this the one?" or "Am I going to live with this person for the rest of my life" and that is the fact that that person is going to change. It could be for better or for worse, hopefully for the better due to your support and guidance as a partner. I say this because I hear it a lot from young couples (I'm in college) who have been together for a number of years or are just starting to take things seriously.
All of this though, is not me saying it's not great to be a relationship where you have no doubt that you want to be with that person. Again, congratulations and I am sincerely happy for you. I don't say this to impose doubts upon you but to reassure others that within some spectrum it's normal to have a few shreds of doubt at some point. Although if those are coming up after your married then you need to be concerned.
Anyways, I'm young and I'm sure I have plenty to learn.
