No One Regrets Second Base
Being that I am a college student at what is considered a huge party school, I have seen lots of hook ups go on during parties. Typically I just see people making out, but it often doesn’t stop there. I guess when you’re inebriated and in a crowded basement with strobe lights flashing like there’s no tomorrow, you assume no one else is watching you.
It’s not unusual for me to see a simultaneous guy up a girl’s shirt/girl’s hand down a guy’s pants combo at these parties. They probably have never seen each other before this party and probably don’t know each other’s names as they make out and grope around. That’s part of the fun, right?
As long as it doesn’t go any further, I haven’t heard of anyone regretting going to second base with a stranger.
First, let me define what I deem as second base:
On a guy: Receiving a handjob
On a girl: Touching her boobsWhy is second base so awesome? I think emotions start coming into play when any kind of penetration happens (well, this is me not really seeing making out with a stranger as being a huge deal… unless you’re in a relationship) which can always lead to those morning-after thoughts of “why did I do that?!” and “what if that person I was with wasn’t clean?!”
What’s your definition of second base? Do you think it’s a happy medium between not getting any action at all and going all the way? Do you ever wake up and say, "Damn it! Shouldn't have gone to second base last night!"

@OP: I don't have definitions for bases anymore. I've always had issues with the concept (I also have issues with the concept of virginity, so...)
I think the reason no one regrets second base is that society doesn't tend to count the things you've listed as "sex" despite that they're rather sexual in nature. You can do them and get your jollies without society slut-shaming you.
I know plenty of people who have regretted second base, but like you I know of many who don't have any regrets either. @opticalnoise@xanga - I agree
College parties can be sooo gross. You have an interesting theory, but I don't think most guyseven actually enjoy handjobs very much.

Wouldn't a handjob be equivalent to fingering a girl? I've grouped both of those into third. Second to me is general feeling up.

I haven't had second base regrets. I wouldn't let a random guy at a party or anywhere else grope me or anything sexual. sex or not getting any isn't anything important to me, but I say this because there seems to be endless amounts of guys, who would want to go to any bases with me, and that loses its appeal because they are so easy that it isn't even fun to flirt with them due to their sexual eagerness. I don't mean that I like the very shy guys, but a guy with some attitude and knows how to tease and challenge me so that I'll be continuously interested rather than lose interest quickly.

The typical system is the Four F's: frenching, fingering, felatio and fuck.
And yeah, of course it's okay. If my boyfriend is tired or stressed or something, we don't have to have sex, we can just do something else. This is one of those options. But there's a key point: it CAN'T be treated like a chore. Ever. Or else it stops being an okay alternative to sex and becomes... well, a chore.
Boobs shouldn't even be a base! A handjob and boobie grabbing aren't exactly equal in my opinion.

I have to agree with most people - boob touch is nowhere near the same as a handjob. Boob-touch should be somewhere between first and second base.
I have only been to 2nd base with 2 guys, and I don't either, although I will freely admit that messing around with one of the guys was just a terrible idea. I wasn't exactly making the best decisions when I messed around with either one actually, but at least I ended up dating the last one :)

I would say second is anywhere from breast-gropage (but that's just barely into second base- I have friends who used to casually grope me all the time, though, so I might be desensitised :P) to any kind of hand-on-genital contact (oral is third). :)
I would count any direct skin contact with the genitals to be potentially regret-worthy, but boob groping is no problem. :) (Still wouldn't let it get out of hand with anyone other than my partner, though.)
Yeah...that definition isn't really..fair. IMO, if he get's a hand job, then so does she. If he gets a blow job, then so does she. Atleast that's what second base would be to me. XD.

No way does a boob grab equal a handjob, that's like saying touching his crotch outside the clothes is equivalent to fingering her. There's just not the same level of satisfaction.. Sorry, but a boob squeeze by a drunk person sounds more painful than pleasurable.
