  • The Best Choice of Love Song

The first time I heard "Yellow" by Coldplay, I was at dance rehearsal. Our director told us to improvise after listening to the first verse and chorus of the song. The first thing that came to my mind was that I just heard the most beautiful love song ever.

Before I start improvising in dance, I always try to think of a story I'm trying to portray, and let my body to the rest. I listened to the first few seconds of the song:

    Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
    And everything you do,
    Yeah, they were all yellow.
    I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
    [CUT-TAG="And it was called "Yellow""]
    And it was called "Yellow"

I tried to be "Yellow," which to me meant the warmth I felt when I knew I was starting to love someone. It meant fondness and happiness, because I always thought that if smiling and laughter could boil down to a color, it would be yellow. And that the writer of "Yellow" felt so much of this, and could only sum everything up into a color.

(I have also read that this could be about a drug addiction, but I'd like to think it's actually a love song!)

My Top 5 Favorite Love Songs:

    1) "Yellow" - Coldplay

    2) "Love Song" - The Cure

    3) "More Than Words" - Extreme

    4) "Your Song" - Elton John

    5) "Babylon" - David Gray

What are your favorite love songs? If you could learn to play one song for someone you loved to let them know how much you cared about them, what would it be? What's the best love song you've ever heard?
