• You Would Be Perfect for Me... If You Were Straight

  
  We have those times when we hit it off with someone really well; you talk about interesting subjects, you laugh at and with each other, you share common interests, you get along great. And then... what happens? Do you find out they have a boyfriend or girlfriend? What about if you find out they were gay or lesbian?
  
  My situation happened about several months after I started working where I work now. My friend N worked with me once before she quit. She would come back and visit often (which she told me she would only come back to visit me). I figure that would be a sign that she might have interest in me. She would also keep telling me that I'm her favorite person to hang around in the whole world. I took that as another sign.
  
  So, recently, about several weeks ago, when she stopped by and we were chatting it up, she mentions that she loves to play video games, loves cars, shares the same favorite football team as I do; basically, she is a gold mine that I've struck. Then a few minutes later, she dropped the bombshell: she was a lesbian.
  
  I knew at that point because we started talking about relationships and she kept mentioning how she would always fall for the wrong girl or that she was at a low point at a certain age after a breakup with a girl. She then mentioned that guys do nothing for her.
  
  My friend had the same situation happen to him. A girl at his job asked him to hang out. He thought that she was kind of cute and she insisted on hanging out with him one-on-one at his house, whether it was watching a movie or playing video games. I later got a text that night that read:
  
  "She's a lesbian. FML."
  
  I laughed.
