  • Walking In On Your Family Members Doing the Deed

Before I knew what sex was, I walked in on my parents getting down in my living room.
It was late at night, but I had to go to the bathroom which was on the opposite side of our apartment.

I was only three. Though no one ever specifically told me that people were most likely "making love" if they didn't have their clothes on and were making a "back and forth motion" with their hips, but something in my three-year-old keenness made me realize I was walking in on a private moment.

I was an extremely dramatic child, so my first inclination was to make a scene and start saying "EWWW!" and run back to my room, stomping as loud as I could.

I held back though, and instead tried to cr33p over to the other side of the apartment with my hands covering my eyes. We didn't have carpet, so each time I took a step forward, the floorboards creeeeeeaked.

"Why aren't you asleep?!" my dad yelled at me.

"I have to peepee!!!" I whelped, and ran to the bathroom. I kept my face out of their sight so they didn't think I was watching them. I stayed in the bathroom for a considerable amount of time, hearing shuffling coming from the living room. When I heard a door slam shut, I knew they went back to their room. I quickly tiptoed back to my room, tempted to wake my older sister up to tell her what I just saw, but I was feeling some guilt and embarrassment over it. I didn't know why, but I felt really dirty and intrusive even though it was just an accident.

Our rooms were next to each other, so I suppose that's why they moved into the living room for their moment. I never walked in on them ever again--what happens in the master bedroom should stay in the master bedroom.

Have you ever walked in on your parents? Ever interrupt a family member's intimate moment by accident? Get walked in on by a relative?
