Making Love to a Celebrity Sex Doll
These were my Top Searches on my Yahoo homepage one day:
1) Relief for Japan
2) Green living
3) Free house plans
4) Government shutdowns
5) Miley Cyrus love dollI was pretty disgusted that a Miley Cyrus Love Doll was produced and released by Pipedream Products not even half a year after she turned 18. They were planning this out while she was still a minor--does that bother anyone else besides me?!
I clicked on the Miley Cyrus link out of curiosity and read that this love doll, in all its Hannah Montana glory rocker-girl glory, sold out its entire stock within 48 hours of being released. Is it weirder that there was a Miley Cyrus love doll floating around in the first place, or that so many people flocked to buy it?
And then I read that Miley Cyrus wanted to sue Pipedream Products for defamation charges due to this doll. I'm really weirded out that Pipedream Products, or any creators of sex dolls, didn't have to get anyone's consent to produce the love dolls first. While the face of the doll is not actually Miley's face, and the product name is a clever twist on her name--Finally Mylie!--it still tries to create an image of Miley Cyrus that is questionable.
I'm not the biggest fan of Miley Cyrus and I don't think she's the best influence for young girls who watch Hannah Montana, listen to her music, or even watch her somewhat provocative live performances. She did choose to do that almost-naked photo shoot with Vanity Fair when she has millions of fans that will probably see Vanity Fair alongside Girls' Life, but at least she apologized to her fans later on for offending them. She can only blame herself for her reputation as a bad influence, but is it fair to have her image exploited by sex toy company?

Should sex doll makers get consent from the celebrities they try to recreate? How would you feel if a love doll was created in your likeness? Have you ever made love to a love doll?

I think it's disgusting but I guess males need something too right? Isn't it the equivalent of a dildo for females? I wouldn't want a doll model of me for people to use though.
I think it is really offensive that they use people's images without their consent. I hope Miley sues the pants off them and wins.
absolutely should get consent but I doubt that she'd give permission, so they went ahead and produced and sold the doll, then had a pending claim against them. I'd feel violated. no way.
doing an almost naked photoshoot does not make her a bad influence. if she had a record of drunk driving, or other blatantly reckless behavior, then that's different.
I think celebrities have a right to complain if they make a doll that is obviously a doll of them. Toy companies have to get permission to make dolls with celebrity likenesses for children. These companies should give celebrities the same "respect" (if you can call it that). No I would not want a doll of me. I would be creeped out by some guy wanting a doll of me, even my husband.
I have no opinion of men who want to use sex dolls. Everyone has their own kink. Dolls are less weird than battery powered vaginas.
@Anonymous - The thing with a dildo is that there's no one's face on it. Also, guys could buy something like a Fleshlight.
@P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga - It's other things though, like the video that surfaced of her taking bong hits, her "pole dancing" while singing "Party in the USA" or her other risque videos. It was alienating to the girls who looked up to her while she was still portraying Hannah Montana.
I wouldn't hate on her for that nude photo. It was art.
I think they should stop making the doll, that's bullshit. I'd sue.
@P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga - I agree. I mean, usually in photoshoots the photographer/company doing the shoot chooses what the models wear, the theme, etc. Most of the time, the models themselves just have to make do. Now, I'm not saying I'm a Miley fan, and I'm not saying she is a good or bad role model, but it isn't entirely her fault (that photoshoot specifically).
And the companies should definitely get permission to make those dolls, in my opinion. Just like other adult toy companies who want to make "life-like" toys have to get the models' consent.
Sadly I don't think they do have to get consent because it's considered a "parody".
Yes they should get consent, I wouldn't want a doll like that looking like me, and no, I haven't made love to a love doll.
I'd hit it...
Sorry guys, its free speech. They aren't even using her name or face. Even if we don't like it, its totally legal.
Never used one, I really don't care if they get their permission, because a blow up doll probably doesn't look anything like the person.
Creepy.
@dangelb - but it's not Miley's job to be a role model for anyone, regardless of who she portrays when she's on TV.
Is it sad that the picture on the box is much hotter than she is?
@i_saw_myself_morior@xanga - Oh my gross, exactly! There's some real big sickos out there. The thought of a sex doll looking like me, makes me feel dirty and whorish, like a zillion men I don't know doing me @_@. In that case, I would of been a prostitute.
It's creepy to imagine having a sex doll made of me, but on the bright side, for all the dudes that could never get in my pants in a million years, I can sarcastically tell them to buy a doll instead 'cause that's the closest they can get! LOL all kidding aside, Miley has every right to sue them, I'd probably do that too, but whether or not she wins is ultimately up to the court.
loool. sick.
thats creepy
its creepy. who buys these dolls?
Creepy. Her boobs are fake too.
