A Look at Love Songs
I was thinking earlier about love songs and how some are more prominent than others during certain stages of a relationship. You know, some songs are about the feelings you get when you pine from afar, some songs are about the beginning, others are about how happy you are right then and there, others still are about plights and betrayal, and the rest are about what happens when it's over.
So, feel completely free to judge me all you want, but here's a list of some of my favorite love songs taken from my music library. It's like my father always says, "you like what you like." If you don't like them, that's fine. Each to his own, but try them out.
In alphabetical order by artist:
- Adele- Make You Feel My Love (Bob Dylan cover)
- Backstreet Boys- I Promise You (With Everything I Am)
- The Beatles- I've Just Seen A Face
- Beyoncé- Halo
- Boyz II Men- I'll Make Love To You
- Britney Spears- Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know
- Bruce Springsteen- You're Missing, One Step Up
- Carolyn Dawn Johnson- Complicated
- Dashboard Confessional- The Secret's In The Telling, Screaming Infidelities, The Widow's Peak
- Dave Matthews Band- Dreamgirl
- Def Leppard- When Love And Hate Collide
- The Eagles- Love Will Keep Us Alive
- Elvis Costello- Alison
- The Goo Goo Dolls- Dizzy
- Isley Brothers- For The Love Of You
- James Blunt- Goodbye My Lover
- Jessica Simpson- I Wanna Love You Forever <<<< Don't skip on this one! I swear it's amazing.
- John Hiatt- Angel Eyes, Feels Like Rain
- John Mayer- Slow Dancing In A Burning Room, Comfortable, Back To You, Your Body Is A Wonderland, In Your Atmosphere << If you really don't like John Mayer, then at least listen to the last song.
- Katy Perry- Teenage Dream (Yes, really.)
- Kina- I Love You
- Marvin Gaye- Let's Get It On
- NSYNC- This I Promise You
- Rick Seibold- Can't Go On
- S Club 7- Never Had A Dream Come True
- Toby Keith- When Love Fades
- Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers- Here Comes My Girl, Letting You Go
- Trisha Yearwood- I Would've Loved You Anyway

- Whitney Houston- I Will Always Love You (...because what list wouldn't be complete without Whit? And, yes, this is a Dolly Parton original)
What are your favorite love songs? Do you have any guilty pleasures?
