I'm Attracted to "Ugly" Guys
I’ve come to a frightening realization…apparently, I like ugly guys! Well, not exactly ugly, just weird. My friends have always picked on me about my specific and somewhat strange taste in men, but after doing a quick analysis (read: googling celebrities I find attractive), I think they’re right. So what do I like? Bushy eyebrows, big noses, and tiny mouths. In my defense, I’m a sucker for beautiful eyes—but I am often the loner in my group of friends when I point out a guy who I find hot.What tops off the humor in this is that historically, all my boyfriends have pretty much all had some (or all) of these characteristics. To start, I’ll give you an idea of my taste by showing you some celebrities that I like.

The psychologist in me says that I find these celebrities attractive because they remind me of my past crushes, but I feel like there's got to be more to it than that! What is it about bushy eyebrows, big noses, and a tiny mouth that reels me in faster than a knife fight in a phone booth?
Do you have odd taste or specific characteristics that you find yourself attracted to? Have you noticed a trend in the looks of your previous boyfriends or girlfriends?

I don't think they're ugly. Unique looking, but handsome.
Maybe we have bad taste together because I think the majority of the guys you have pictures of are good looking. Adam Levine is HOT...there is no question to that. Maybe your friends have bad taste lol. But yea a lot of my exes or crushes are very much alike...tall, broad, brunette, athletic, with very manly looking hands...I have a weird attraction to hands. I love them big so they can wrap up my hand in theirs lol...I guess we all have our little quirks.

I think I like what society deems as "unattractive" men, too. (ie. guys who are slightly overweight).
I don't care what my man looks like as long as he is my very own Mr. Darcy.

Hey, I think some of those guys are attractive. Matthew Fox is pretty good looking. I have come to find that I don't actually like "pretty boys". I seem to be more attracted to dorky looking guys, I just think they're so cute. I'd much rather date a guy I find cute than I guy that I would call "hot".
Excuse me!? Tell me how Jake Gyllenhaal and Adam Lavine are ugly! And the other ones aren't even ugly just different. God Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the hottest guys ever.
Wow, I never would've guessed that anyone would consider those guys "ugly"! Personally, I have a soft spot (no pun intended) for overweight guys. Not morbidly obese or anything, but just enough to be extra-cuddly. :)
i like unique looking guys also. i think the pretty boy look is very bland and unattractive. my favorite types are skinny boys with striking features, and i love a distinctive nose.
those guys you listed are definitely not ugly btw, they're just not the ken-doll types.
p.s. you would think my boyfriend was ridiculously hot, he looks kind of like a combo between jake gyllenhaall, adrian brody, and toby mcguire. big beautiful green eyes, dominant striking nose, and a cute little mouth.

In the course of my life, I have encountered VERY few men whom I did not find at least somewhat attractive.

I think maybe your friends are going for the feminized baby faced male celebrities? Most of those guys are really good looking, especially Adrien Brody and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Maybe the editors should have chosen, "I'm attracted to 'uniquely and nontraditionally handsome' guys" as the title for this, because it seems like people think I've simply made a list of guys I think are ugly.

I obviously don't find them ugly because I'm saying that I'm attracted
to them! But for example, whenever I swoon over Daniel Radcliffe while
watching Harry Potter, my friends look at me like I'm bat-crap-crazy.

@lemons_to_lemonade@xanga - Oh I am definitely a hands person too! Most of my friends like the blonde haired, blue eyed "hotties." Do any of your exes know each other, or noticed their resemblance to each other?
@AbnormalButSane@xanga - It's especially nice that he has that big scar on his side because it helps me identify him immediately in a scene without seeing his face, among other things. :)

@i_r_keiko@xanga - none of them know each other (that's probably a good thing lol) but I have shown my husband pictures of them to show him how much he resembled them. He didn't like that too much, but on a positive note when one of his friends was hitting on me he was scared I liked the guy too. I told him of course not...he's not my type, he has small hands! And so then my husband felt better. He constantly asks me why I like his hands, are his hands manly, does he have the most manly hands of my exes, etc...I think it boosts his ego lol
I thought I was the only one that adores bushy eyebrows on men. aahhhhaa.
But really, none of these men are even remotely ugly. Just not the stereotypical sort of metrosexualized look that a lot of girls like nowadays... more masculine. Yurm.
@lemons_to_lemonade@xanga - That's awesome, because on my first date with my boyfriend I told him one of the initial things I look for is tiny hands. Luckily he passed that test. :) It's so cute when they're so curious what it is about their hands that you like. My boyfriend actually stopped trimming his eyebrows for a while, and when I asked why he said it was because I said I like bushy eyebrows. I plucked them for him and explained that I like bushy eyebrows, not bushy unibrow. >.< What did your husband say when you showed him the pictures? Did he think they looked alike, or deny it?
