The Surprise Anniversary

My boyfriend and I celebrate our anniversary each month. Usually we do small things, like go to a new restaurant, see a movie, or go hiking. Any activity that allows us to spend quality time together will fit the bill. As we approached our 10 month mark, we didn't make any special plans to acknowledge it. We spent that evening together and that was more than enough of a celebration to make me happy.
Fast-forward to the weekend after the anniversary. It's Saturday and I'm at work when I receive a text message from my boyfriend asking me if I would like go to dinner that night. He says he will make reservations for 7 PM and that I must be at his house by 6:30 sharp.
My Saturday ends up being the most stressful day of the week and by the time I get off work, all I want to do is sleep. Unfortunately, I still had to walk my dog his usual 5 miles and shower and somehow make it to my boyfriend's house by 6:30. Chaos ensues as I run alongside my dog for an hour under the hot sun and then rush back home to take a 4.5 minute shower and then off again to my boyfriend's house.
When I arrive, I receive a message saying to meet him on his front porch, so I walk around to the front of his house and what do I find? His wicker chairs and table are set up for dinner for two!He made tortellini stuffed with Italian sausage and cheese along with bread sticks filled with melted cheese! I was incredibly touched by his thoughtfulness and grateful that we didn't have to drive to a restaurant after all because he had brought the restaurant to us. This was his anniversary gift to me.And the best was yet to come-- he bought me a strawberry cake for dessert!

Has the special person in your life done something thoughtful for you recently?

That's really cute and adorable. He seems like a sweetheart.
Aww! That's so cute :)
Awww, that's so sweet! Sometimes, that's all you need. (And a card with thoughtful words don't hurt either.) My husband can't cook, but he's bought plenty of sweet, thoughtful gifts, but I'd have to say my favorites are Disney figurines and kitchen gadgets.
Awww, what a nice boyfriend.
My boyfriend bought me "Spousonomics" for my birthday and I was really impressed and happy with that because I'd mentioned it seemed interesting.
How sweet! That strawberry cake looks so good! My hubby does sweet things for me all the time too.
mine surprised me with a brand new hot pink dell laptop (i love dell and he hates them) for christmas this year. i was completely shocked and had NO idea what so ever but my parents and his parents knew for MONTHS prior! i cried when i knew what it was.
also for mothers day he went out to the store with our little boy and bought me flowers and a card and made our baby walk up to me in the parking lot (i was in the car waiting) and give them to me!my hubs is super thoughtful :) i love him tons
how old are you guys? a man who cooks is a man to keep hunny!
Awww! That's so sweet. A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend took me to our state park and we took a hike, and looked at all the beautiful views, he proceeded to tell me how beautiful I am and how blessed he is to have me in his life.
SIGH

Cuuuute, what a sweetie pie :D Boyfriend just got me an 'engaged to be engaged' ring recently and the sweetest letter with it (for my birthday, we are almost 1 year and 5 months, only really -celebrate- big anniversaries like the year mark). When we lived together, though, we went out to eat or something to celebrate, then watch a movie or shows together, if we remembered. Love him to death :D

@annamariuhh@xanga - Wow sounds like a pretty awesome boyfriend! Love letters are seriously the best!
@rAzOrKisS09@xanga - I definitely felt loved. And we love going on hikes or walks together. For the date that he first kissed me on we were on a walk downtown, and when he first told me he loved me we were on a walk on Michigan Ave. in Chicago. Walks are kind of our thing. haha
