Ladies! Would You Walk Around in Your Panties for $200/mo?
When I was new to New York, I spent a lot of time trolling Craigslist for potential roommates. And, as anyone who spends enough time on this website is bound to do, I stumbled onto something a bit... unorthodox.The ad was posted by a young, handsome, successful man (or so his photo and description would have you believe) who needed a female roommate to share his beautiful, brand-new two bedroom apartment in Chelsea. Rent was only $200/mo and included all utilities, cable TV and wifi, plus access to the building's fitness room, pool and sauna.
The female stipulation and reduced rent obviously raises red flags. What is it that this female roommate would have to do, you ask, in order to pay just two hundred bones a month for such a sweet living arrangement?
The answer, I learned, was this: All she would have to do is be comfortable walking around the apartment in her underwear, at the times when she would anyway if she lived alone.
Huh. That's it? Well. Why couldn't he just get a girlfriend to do that naturally? Maybe he doesn't want the attachment. But a roommate? She lives there. Maybe she's just another piece of decoration for his sweet bachelor pad?
Whatever. The truth is it stank of weird. But there have to be people out there to whom something like this would appeal. I mean, the ad isn't up anymore...
Is this something you would ever consider? Why or why not?

I walk around in my underwear all the time and I don't get paid jack shit for it.
This is the single sketchiest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. I wish I were exaggerating.
actually, from a man's point of view {at least mine} if you reverse the situation i would have to say..HELL YA !!! and buy new skivvies..
I don't think it sounds that sketchy... I used to live with a guy (friend of a friend) who let me live rent free in a SUPER nice apartment (think 3k+ a month rent) with all amenities if I picked up after him.
He wasn't even that messy. He just didn't trust maids. LOL

Who ever would answer the ad should just wear the "Granny Panties" and sports bra's. That will fix him.

Title is misleading. She's not getting paid $200/month to do this. She has to pay ONLY $200/month for rent. It's cheap rent, but it's not like she's actually putting money in her pocket.
I would actually do this, if I carefully researched the man and took all safety precautions. I mean, I do already anyways, and it's such a sweet deal. But that kind of guy... What if he tried to touch or hurt you?
I'd have to know the guy really well and trust him...

he's probably one of those panty sniffers and goes through her laundry when she's not there or it'll escalate into that. ugh~ I don't care if he's hot. no way, not even if it was free rent.
I would NEVER live with a guy who wasn't my husband so I would NOT have to worry about wearing only my underwear.
something tells me this is a very dark and strange situation that some girl with very little common sense will probably walk right into.
sometimes it seems like the toughest girls are the ones who turn out to be the most naive and trusting. and then there are the girls like me who have been told too many times to count that we are so "innocent and naive and sweet" all the while we are secretly sizing up half the people we meet and deciding there is a high possibilty they are a serial killer or something of the sort.

I dunno, im not very modest, and a bra and panties are no more/less revealing than a bikini....so....as long as there would be no inappropriate touching involved then it might not be a big deal.
Plus, it said the times that you would if you lived alone...so its not like youre only allowed to wear a bra and panties

Isn't it like walking about in a bikini? That's creepy though. I would do it only if I really know the person. I'd walk in my underwear or naked in my own home if I could... but my dad is normally home. That's just beyond strange for me.
