  • I've Never Dated Outside of My Age Group

I was talking to the girls over dinner the other night and we started talking about age.

We’re all in our early twenties. One said that she recently dated a guy that was 32. Another said she had dated a guy three years younger than she was. I noticed I’ve never dated anyone that was too much older or too much younger.

The youngest I’ve ever dated was a 17-year-old when I was 19. And the oldest I’ve ever gone was a 23-year-old when I was about 20.

I’m not sure why but I’ve never been attracted to guys who were especially too much older.

Is age a factor for you? How old/young have you ever dated?

    Oldest - 3 years older.

    Youngest - 4 months older.

Although currently I'm romantically involved with a 25 year old, and I'm 20.

this is gonna sound bad but... i dated a senior when i was a freshman in hs. i also recently dated a 21 year old and im 18. i guess i always go for older guys, i dont know why but ive never liked guys my age or younger -_-

I dated a 17 year old when I was 14 and while three years doesn't sound like a big deal, it definitely was during high school. He broke up with me for being immature. Then, when I was 18, I dated a 25 year old. Dated is a loose term though. We hung out a few times. I usually dated guys who were two years older than me though. My boyfriend is a year and a half. I don't think age is that big of a deal unless you're in high school. I think high schoolers should date each other haha. Seniors can date outside of high school, but other grades seem too young for some reason haha.

I've always been more drawn to older men approx. 10-15 years older, or sometimes they're older than that, but just look young for their age so the age bracket is higher of almost twice my age, and I'm in my 20's. I wasn't interested in the younger or guys around my age, because they were mostly still in the immature drunken party stage, not all are like that of course, but I was just not compatible with these guys my age, who were at that stage, which is fine since he'll find a girl, who is similar to him and enjoys his lifestyle, and I'll find someone, who is more compatible with my lifestyle. it seems like a drastic difference in the stage of life, but I just find something about the slight wrinkles on an older guy sexy, but not overly wrinkled lol something like jude law's age is my type. and the older guy has probably already achieved some of his goals and I find that drive of life to accomplish things hot. younger/my age guys can be just as ambitious, but they might be all talk and little action, but these already established older men already proved it. I know that they can still be jerks, etc, but that's just what I'm more drawn to.

I dated someone just about a year younger than me once.  My longest relationship was with someone who was the same age as me.  The rest of the guys I've dated/been in relationships with have ranged from about 1.5 years older than me to as much as 8 years older than me, with an average around 4 years older than me.

I'm 20; husfriend is 24. Always been more attracted to older men. Oddly enough, the one I ended up with is the closest to my age of said attractive older men.

  • theflowerstem@xanga

I wouldn't date someone more than 2 years older than me because with as young as I am more than 2 years is a big deal. I like to date guys that are going through the same things as I am and I feel that anyone more than 2 years older has already been there and done that and I'll just feel like it's a parent child relationship. If I were in my 30s I could date someone 10-15 years older than me because I have enough life experience to keep up.

Oldest... a 29 year old guy when I was 22.  Youngest... a 19 year old guy when I was 23.

Age doesn't really matter to me, so long as we are attracted to each other.

  • pictureperfect_memories@xanga

    Oldest: I'm dating a 22 year old and I'm 18.
    Youngest: 6 months.

I personally wouldn't got 5 years older or 1 year yonger.

  • xraindropsonroses@xanga

I have gone 2 years older.. 1 year younger.. and 6 years older. I'd stick with going a couple years older personally. Although, the 6 years wasn't too bad.

  • reesa14@xanga

    Oldest-3 and half yrs older
    youngest-8 months younger
Relationships to me are hard enough without a huge age difference.

  • Kill_GaryLarson@xanga

I like younger guys. I would say the majority of my major boyfriends have been about a year younger than me.

  • cHiCoLaTe@xanga

    Youngest- 4 months younger

    Oldest- 2.5 years older.

I have always been more attracted to older men, the type that's old enough to settle down and enjoy some family life with me. Despite the small age gap between me and my current boyfriend, he's already getting his pharmacist license and I'm only a first year, so I guess that kind of helps to widen the "age gap" a little more?

  • katethoughts@xanga

oldest ive went is 4 and 1/2

youngest... a less than a year younger but he was a sophmore when im a senior
  • deathcantholdme@xanga

oldest- i think 2 years (but just making out); and like 2 weeks for the people I actually dated

    youngest- a year

  • ccccourage@xanga

oldest, 7 yrs older, youngest 13 yrs younger. Longest relationship same age as me. I don't feel like I have a particular attraction to older or younger, it really just depends on the person. My current boyfriend is 7 yr younger than me.

  • ShirleyD@xanga

Oldest was 5 years older and youngest was 2 years younger. I think I prefer to date older guys now though. Like I want to date someone about 10 years older than me. Haha. I'm not down with the younger ones anymore.

  • rabbitsarecool14@xanga

I find the 5-8 years older range is ideal for me.   I tend to have crushes on my professors and older professional men, around their 30's and 40's, don't judge me lol. I blame the first guy I was ever involved with for shaping my idealization of older men.  I was 14 and he was 22, no, nothing illegal happened, and yes, he is a horrible man for ever looking at me that way that young!  I did have a long relationship with someone 1 year older than me and that was nice, it was very normal and high school-y, i don't regret it.  It's just typically I get along with older people, maybe when I'm 30 I'll level out.

  • PrincessPatriotII@xanga

Ahhhh young people. Yeah I understand when you're in your teens/early twenties 1 year is a big difference.  As you get older though it all evens out and you find age is not as big a deal as maturity and personality.  For me youngest was 2 years younger. Oldest was 18 years older.  I'm 24.  I find older men tend to make for way better dates.  Although the longest and most serious relationship I have had was with someone my own age.

  • littlechef1@xanga

ha i dated a 22 year old reccently.. and im 17

  • ci_ao_be_lla@xanga

I've been on dates with guys 6-8 years older than me, but I've only had relationships with guys 6months-2 years older. I've dated guys a year or less younger than me.  The reason I find myself attracted to guys who are older is because of the maturity thing. Guys who are done with college tend to have their life in focus better, know how to prioritize, etc. I'm not the stereotypical college girl, so I'm not looking for the stereotypical college guy. I find it's a lot harder to find that sense of values and self in college-age guys (although not impossible). Or at least ones that match up with mine. Plus a lot of people working in my career field are older than me.

  • sillyangel13@xanga

i'm 19 i would date a 17 year old but one that is almost 18

and the oldest i would date is probably 21 :D
  • Spectrophile@xanga

Youngest I've dated was a 7 year gap, and oldest a 4 year gap. I've always been interested in older women ever since I can remember. The younger girl I refer to in the first sentence solidified my certainty that immaturity is a turn-off. I've been interested in women far older than myself, but those I've come across appear to be embarrassed at the concept of dating a far younger guy. They tend to shy away when I am forward, testing the waters, etc .

  • not_your_concern@xanga

My last boyfriend was almost 5 years older than me. Funnily enough, we were both on the same maturity level.

The youngest I've ever dated was a little less than a year younger.

I've come close to dating someone eleven years older than me! It was a guy I worked with, and he flirted with me constantly. Lol but yeah, I wasn't into him enough to date him, and I thought the age difference was too weird. I was 19, and he was 30. He most definitely did not act his age though. He was very young at heart, and didn't even look 30.

  • Just_Another__Disaster@xanga

I like older guys. I'm 21 & i always find myself attracted to 30 & even some 40 year olds. It's crazy shit & i dunno why but my brother's brilliant explanation is that i'm going through a DILF phase.

-.-" I just like maturity. Lol.
