Playing Games: Do You or Don't You?
So you have a new fling. You met him earlier this week or maybe you reconnected with them. But wait, you wake up one day and they haven’t called you. What’s going on? No worries! I’ll send him a text. But maybe they’re busy and can’t answer. Well, they can respond whenever they want to. But I don’t want to be just another floating text message on their phone waiting for them to respond to me. I’ll call and hang up! No, that’s dumb. I’ll swing by their job! By now, you don’t know what to do with yourself!
There are the daters who believe in the no-game-game where they don’t over think anything and just act on their feelings. If only I had the ability to do that.
Myth: If you’re the first one to reach, you’ll immediately lose an advantage. Do you believe this is true?
When it comes to playing games, do you?

Unfortunately, you have to play games a little bit at first, unless the nonchalant thing comes natural to both people involved. Most guys will say they hate mind games, but they secretly love it. Give them two equal girls: one that acts interested, and one that doesn't, and they will 9 times out of 10 go for the non-interested one. They enjoy a challenge, so playing hard to get is usually the better option in the beginning. It sucks not being able to show your true feelings, but you have to hold out a little while for the guy to chase you.
I think there are some girls that are the same way, but most girls love attention, so they won't necessarily become less interested when a guy shows interest in them.
I don't see the point, personally. If we're interested in each other I see no reason why I shouldn't seem interested. I don't like to make things complicated.
I really don't like to play games. I feel like I shouldn't have to do that. Why can't I just go after what I want? If I like a man, can't I just say so without it seeming desperate? Apparently this is not able to happen and some game playing must occur to a point. If I answer his texts or calls too quick, does he think I have nothing better to do than wait for him to communicate? If I text or call first everyday, does that mean I am desperate? It's an annoying thing to deal with.
i fucking hate dating in the 21st century -_-
I think games are bullshit. Any guy who ignores me when it's convenient, or to keep the upper hand, isn't worth my time. I'll find someone who's actually an adult.

I don't play games. When I started talking to my boyfriend, he asked me, "So, Strangergirl... what is this exactly? Are we friends?" I let him know that we weren't. We were more. And I wanted more from it.
Even after a week or two, I said, "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we got married?" Sheesh. Why would you hide your feelings and make things drag on?We don't play games. That's the stupidest charade ever. I said, "Hey, call me after you finish working," and after work, he called me. No call and hang up. Our first conversations after he was deployed were 12 hours straight. We discussed everything--- our most embarrassing moments, our secrets, first loves, hopes and dreams...
I hate it, if you have to play games then the guy isnt worth your time. Being upfront about things can be just as much fun and alot less annoying. At least you know where you both stand.
What's the point of playing games? it's petty. If you have to play games to see "how he/she really are", then they aren't worth it. Being upfront about everything creates stronger bonds, and in some cases lets you know that maybe this isn't the best. But running around and playing these games that take more energy than being upfront is dumb.
hrm. my thing is, im too honest. ill say whats what. doing the dating games is just not something i willingly participate in. if i like someone, they will know it. and if the guy starts to do all that game stuff... he loses my interest quick. my lifes busy. i dont have time to second guess a mans actions. lol. though i admit, at times one gets sucked into these games without even knowing it. thats when it starts to irk me.
text messaging has allowed people to be jerks more easily because even if they are busy, it just takes a couple seconds to send a short text saying something, anything, but they might just ignore you because they know that the texter will be impatient and send another text later. I don't have unlimited text messaging, so I refuse to accept texts and will block them. if they want to contact me, then call me, but I don't really like talking on the phone either and don't have unlimited minutes, so if he genuinely likes me and wants me, then he'll go out of his way to see/talk to me in person. if he doesn't answer my message/call within a reasonable time frame, then I won't continue to chase him if that's what he is thinking and when he realizes that he wants me and starts to chase me later when it is already overdue, then too bad, I probably already liked someone new. if he likes me just say it. I tell guys upfront that I'm not the type to hookup with, so they move onto other women with the same objective, and everybody is clear. if he is actually too busy, then don't bother with a relationship if he doesn't even have time to be there to even send out a text that takes less than a minute
this just says that he is arrogant and doesn't think the girl is worth his precious time.
i play them cuz they work :P
@PseudoEuphoric@xanga - agreed
I don't believe in the 'whoever cracks first' myth. But I do believe that whoever cares less is at the advantage, for which I've been called both incredibly cynical and naive.
I am not into games...but I'm very uncertain, so unless someone is really direct with me, I will almost never be upfront, even though I will be once something is established. Right now I'm caught in the uncertainty stage with someone....and, I mean, if I have to try THAT hard to decipher quasi-signals...e__e I'm about to just forget it.
Yes I play games, though not phone games! The phone games are a little juvenile but when attracting the girl that you want, we have to play games to have a chance. The upfront thing has a low success rate to be brutally frank, and you don't want to play your worse hand when you meet someone you actually like. You have to attract them, and give your personality a chance to shine through. Yes, it does leave a sour stain on my soul to play games, but men didn't write the rules to this game, women did.
@zzzzzulavalle@xanga - Godsdammit there needs to be a like button on this fucking site.
@P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga - Sounds like this guy is doing an awful lot of work for a cranky, needy bitch.
@Revolutionary22@xanga - sounds like you can lick my cranky sexy ass, jerkwad;)
@Revolutionary22@xanga - my point was to not take people for granted. you actually interpreted it as doing an awful lot of work when I said that he wasn't putting enough effort. it isn't needy, it is called having limits and wise standards, so one won't be taken advantage of. get a clue, dumbass:D
Thanks for your opinion. I totally agree with it.I like designer handbags as well and someone is looking for cheap coach handbags? People usually prefer handbags outlet, especially when they visit some ralph lauren polos. In some areas,people like to wholesale clothing. They will find some store doing very cheap or discounted cheap handbags. Certainly,designer handbags is a good way to earn money.
@akatiegirl - Agreed
Wow, you said it completely right.
Alright, I need help. I don't "play games" and I'm always upfront and straight forward but it seems like every girl I date does. What are the signs of game playing and how do I know if they are toying with me?
@zzzzzulavalle@xanga - Agree!!!!!
@P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga - I love your point of view. So true. Let's just be real! :))))
