A Xanga Romance

For those that have not read my blog in, say, three months, my boyfriend Kurt and I met on Xanga. We didn't know each other at all and probably would have never discovered each other, if not for our blogs here. We began talking on Facebook, then Skyping, then decided we were more than friends over winter break. We met in person for the first time over spring break and we plan to meet again in July, then he'll be transferring to my college to become a math teacher. It's fantastic. We are so perfect for each other it blows my mind.This can't possibly be the first time something like this has happened. So I want to know, do you know of anyone else who has met their SO on Xanga? Did you? Would you be opposed to dating someone from Xanga if that was the only way you knew them?

This made me all kinda of happy! =]
This is so sweet! _>
My last girlfriend I met on Xanga. She was from Vancouver and I was from Philadelphia. I flew over to Vancouver about 3 months after we established an online relationship. Our relationship only lasted 11 months. We had our differences that didn't really make our relationship work; a lot of fighting, arguing and yelling.
A Xanga relationship isn't out of the question for me, but a LDR will be something I probably won't get into again.
I have some friends who have met through xanga. Either way I just wanted to say major congratz. This is good stuff to see on Xanga.
Awesomeness. =D
Had you asked this two weeks ago, I would say I would absolutely not try dating someone from Xanga. Then I started really getting to know somebody absolutely, out of this world amazing, and now I'm tentatively answering yes.
One of my really good friends met her husband through Xanga, then through a LDR. They've been married for almost a year now, and seem to be very happy.
Aweh! so cute!
I used to have a few friends who get to know their SO from Xanga, unfortunately none of them are still together now.
This is adorable ^-^ I met one of the best guys I've ever known on xanga, but I can't deal with the long distanceness =/
Awww! :)
awesome ! :D Xanga is cool (: (:
I met a very close friend of mine over xanga. We became close but we both know it would be hard since we're miles apart. We still keep in touch though.
Been at least 4years now.:D
More power to the both of you! Stay strong.:)
loved this :) xanga is great and i've met a friend over here
Totally adorable! <3
Cute. I met my husfriend on the Intarwebz. It wasn't Xanga though.
My man and I didn't meet on Xanga but we joined it together. If I were single and someone on Xanga would interest me then I'd give it a go. My current boyfriend and I are in a LDR. It's not easy but we make it work. I know a few people who met on Xanga and are still together and some who joined Xanga together and are still together as well. I guess a passion for writing is what keeps 2 people together when they both share that passion on the same level, of course there is more to a relationship than having a passion for the same things. Congrats!
Haha, that's awesome, you guys!
(Oh, and I was the person who took that first picture. =P)
so cute! :)
I <3 my Mia!
Haha, that is so adorable. More kudos to Xanga.
Awwwww wow. This is so sweet!
@sonychak@xanga - Thank you! :)
@GodlessLiberal@xanga - And if someone had asked me this last year, I would have said flat-out "NO" because 1) I never thought I could make an LDR work, and 2) I didn't trust people on the internet. But my mind has been changed! :)@thesnuffbox@xanga - Thanks, we're trying!Oh, and to everyone else, I just wanted to add that until Kurt moves up here, we are 1300 miles apart. The great thing about humans is that we are mobile. We can go anywhere we want if we try hard enough. And he wants to be with me. :) So if distance is the only thing keeping you from an amazing person, then I say "You can do it!"
That is so sweet :). I would LOVE to meet someone on xanga. I don't know how it would work out for me just yet, but I'm definitely open to it!
There are a lot of wonderful single and newly single people in the Xanga universe, and I think it's only natural that these people meet up and get to know each other better. I myself is single and unattached. I don't deny that there are a lot of potential mates here. Love and attraction is something unpredictable and exciting. So, who knows? I may get lucky as you two did. I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world.
I am way too realistic and cynical to go through LDRs but honestly, I give mad props to those who do it for their determination and faith.
