Dating Vampires
People who are self-centered tend to crave lots of attention. They send mixed messages to get people's interest and keep them on a string. There's a deep hole of insecure loneliness inside them because they can't commit special feelings for one person. They try to fill it up with other people's admiration for them. They crave talking about their interests and want to impress you. But they really don't desire connection. They tell themselves that they are looking for the perfect person and so sending mixed signals is only part of the natural "elimination process." They take in your emotions for them as a way of feeding their egos. They give just enough to keep you in giving mode.Some people cal them narcissists, but they're more like dating vampires. Ever encountered one?

More like emotional vampires, I think they have a book about this.
not those exact qualifications, but something along those lines, if i see it, ill just become more distant.
My boyfriend likes to bite - I call him a vampire.
But yes, my first "serious" boyfriend was this way. There was never a day in his life since high school that he did not have a girlfriend. Thank goodness I got rid of him - he's married now; good luck to her.
You know that scene in Good Will Hunting, where the douche bag in the bar tries to pass off an obscure piece of someone else's work and pass it off as his own, to impress a girl. This is kind of just like that. Emotional Vampire much?
I still consider them narcissists. I've dated one person like that..happily, I broke away from all that =P

Yup. Happend with this one girl during my first two years of college. After that, I learned to keep an eye out for those.
