Want to Impress Your Girlfriend?
Maybe your anniversary is coming up, or her birthday, or you really just want to show her a good time.
Whatever your reason may be, sometimes a guy needs some help. Maybe you're not the hopeless romantic she wishes you were. Or you aren't creative and you just want to try something new. Here are a few suggestions:
1. A letter: Write your girlfriend a letter. Be romantic about it. (I know a lot of guys have really bad handwriting, so try your hardest to make it look nice. If you mess up, try again.) Write it in pen, because pen always looks nice. Tell her all about the day you realized you liked/loved her. Tell her how she makes you feel. (Try not to say things you always say.) If you often tell her she's cute, try another word. Or explain what makes her cute, example: "I love the way you side-smile when you talk. It's the cutest thing. It gives me butterflies." Tell her she's stunning, or beautiful. Or how she makes your heart beat faster. Don't be afraid to make it sound cheesy. Put it in an envelope. You can simply write her name on it and leave it on the table before she arrives, or in her bed for when the night is over (depending on your sex situation) or somewhere else she'll find it. You can actually mail it to her house, which is very cute. Or, you can put it in a bouquet of flowers or something like that.
2. Can't afford flowers?: It's true, chicks dig flowers. Well. Not all. If you can, get her a bouquet of her favorites. Don't make it obvious you're getting them for her though. Try to surprise her. But, if you can't afford flowers, get solid paper in her favorite color (Or something else, like sheet music if she likes music a lot). And make her a bouquet of paper flowers. Like, for me, light blue, light purple, and light green arranged in nicely... it'd be pretty.
Date ideas:1. Dinner under the "stars." If it's winter, or chilly, put some christmas lights on your ceiling and have dinner on the floor. Add some light music. Choosing dinner is sometimes hard. I did this for my boyfriend's birthday right after we started dating. We had lunchables and fruit snacks. With an ex we went down to this spot on the river and had ramen noodles.
2. Candle-lit dinner: Put candles all around an area. Throw on some music. Lay out rose petals (I do believe they sell them at the dollar tree... or they used to. I think they were fake though). And have a simple dinner. Maybe cook for her. Or have lunchables or something of that sort.
Girls, how would you like to be impressed on a date?

This stuff does not work.
aw, i'd think this stuff was sweet :)
i wouldn't care for any of this, personally. but a good idea would be maybe make something together, dinner, go to a pottery place, a snowman, anything. spending time witha girl with all focus on her and ya'll together having a fun and making a great memory is the best way to get into her heart. at least to me it is. :)
It depends on the sort of woman you are dating. Some women would love these things, some would not. The most impressive thing a boyfriend can do for his gal is to take the time and effort to actually get to know her and figure out what she would like.
I've found the best way to impress my girlfriend was to lick my eyebrows.
These weren't the only ways I had. Actually, the full post is on my blog; impressingyourgirl@blogspot.com
There were better ways, different suggestions, and a disclaimer that it all depends on your girlfriend. This was also only the first post to the blog, and it was only about anniversaries. I plan to post more and about plenty of different things.
Also, I posted links to tutorials on how to do certain things, such as the paper flower bouquet.
I like there are exciting things done at the spur of the moments, and romantic dinners are uncomfortable/awkward for me.
love letters! great idea. and i'm pretty sure receiving a letter will always make any girl happy. thats the thing with girls, whether they admit it or not, they are romantic creatures, and they will read every word carefully with a smile on their face. plus we know writing a love letter is a difficult exercise for most guys, so it gives it even more value
this website is very good, you can go and see it

Cute cliches, haha, like these, are always sweet. =P Just in moderation.
But I'd LOVE to get a letter from my boyfriend. When we were in our first 6 months, we weren't allowed to really see eachother, but we work together. So we'd leave little notes for eachother. And he'd write me supe cute letters. I miss those days sometimes. -sigh- ha.
cute ideas think i might try some them.
LOL. OMG. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but if someone planned a date for me that included a Lunchable or Ramen I would straight quit the bitch. Like, I have very simple tastes and am not an extravagant person but I'm also not a goddamn bargain basement date. Additionally, maybe paper flowers would've passed when I was in college but if my husband brought me home a paper bouquet I don't think I'd be able to appear anything other than utterly confused.
Mostly these are just a little generic for my tastes. I think you need to tailor your ways to impress your lover to your lover's personality. I mean, dinner by the lake would be fine but I'd expect dinner to be picked up or for my date to have at least baked cupcakes or SOMETHING. And maybe some of my favorite or . . . I don't know. More than Ramen. LOL.
@amberALD531@xanga - Reading this comment makes more sense.
welp, now if only someone on xanga actually had a girfriaiend, this would be some good advice, but instead it's a moot point
Candle lit dinner, cool, christmas lights on the ceiling, cool, note/letter, cool. Paper flowers...total fail, sorry, you can buy one rose, carnation for two bucks. You can buy a simple bouquet at the grocery store (and they are pretty) for 5 bucks. You can get me a decent chocolate bar for two dollars at Target or Walmart...I'm talking Lindt bars here.
Romantic is cool, but anything that screams "CHEAP" is not cool. One real flower, one awesome truffle says "I love you" with abundance...even if it doesn't cost very much.
I like these things because they require effort. Maybe I just like effort, I'm not sure.
@DrJolly@xanga - I completely agree. The paper bouquet requires time and effort to put together. And it's really pretty if you do it right.
@PseudoEuphoric@xanga - Sorry about that, I was tired when I commented. Here is the right link: http://impressingyourgirl.blogspot.com/
@Clandestine_Psychosis@xanga - Dead on. Nice to see common sense show up so soon on one of these pages. :)
@Clandestine_Psychosis@xanga - agreed
and I'm shocked that Lovelyish didn't post the whole post. Shame on them =/
these are good suggestions. Honestly i think the best way to impress the girlfriend or any girl really is to actually listen and not just to what she says but also to what she doesn't say and especially what she does, just saying. because once you do that shell make it pretty clear what she wants.
I dont need much. My bf has not written me a letter though, which would be cool. I wrote him one! XD And he has my address...I think...
I LOVE the paper-flower bouquet idea, and the Lunchables-under-the-stars idea is cute, too. :)
Awwww! (:
This was so cute. I love it!
How about paper flower bouquets and on each one he writes a reason why you loves you? Haha. :P I like a little cliche romance in my life. :P
