  • I Met the Perfect Guy and Didn't Get His Number

The other night I went to a concert with a friend. We have been looking forward for this concert for months and this band is my favorite. As I walked up there was this red-headed guy in a black leather jacket and hat with a beard. He was looking around he room and as I walked up he noticed me as well. The first band was taking a while setting up and I decided to make conversation by asking him what time it was on his watch. He would look down and let me know the time every 20 minutes or so that passed. He was a little shy and reserved so I tried not to put him out of his comfort zone too much.

There was a pair of guys behind us having a louder and funny conversation which we overheard and we turned around and began to talk to them.  The other guy from behind us, about my age asked, "Did y'all come here together?"

We look at each other and hesitated. "No, no," we said in unison.

Once the band began to play the crowd began moshing.  I was in the front and my friend stepped out of the mosh because it was too much for her.  I looked around to find my red-headed friend, and it turned out he was the controller of the mosh pit.  He would pick people up when they fell down and move people back into the pit. Needless to say, I was impressed. That kind of job dose not go to a scrawny little guy. This guy was strong.

There were moments during the concert where there was a lull, and I would look around to see who I was standing next to. Sometimes it'd be the red-headed guy, and he his face would brighten with a smile and he would say "Hey! Its nice to see you again!" And hug me like we were old friends. Once the music began to play it made his shyness disappear and I began to realize how cool this guy was.

The last song came to a end and the curtains were closed on the bands performance. People began to leave the venue and I walked up to the red-headed guy. He turned to me and exclaimed, "Your the best moshpit buddy ever!" I was overjoyed with such a compliment I didn't know what to say next. After a few minutes of small talk he said he was going to leave.

I nodded my goodbye and waved. "See you later," he said.

I wasn't until he left that I realized I didn't even know his name.

Has this ever happen to you? Have you met someone you hit it off with and didn't even catch his name?

Well now that you know he works there and what he looks like maybe call to get his name or number? OR! Leave your name and number for him? ^.^ Good luck! Happy Valentine's Day, I hope you find him!

So been there! But mine was in an awkward situation... He was the officer who was writing me a ticket for an MIP. The computer was running slow that night so we were just sitting there making small talk for awhile and we REALLY hit it off. I was considering asking his number but I didn't want to risk getting in more trouble if it came off as bribery.

I still kind of regret it!

On an airplane once. He was on his way to boot camp [type thing... getting ready for the real deal, you know?] with some older guys. We talked the WHOLE plane ride, he even walked me to my grandparents and we had such a great conversation. We love the same movies, books, music, etc. Of course... I was, like 14/15 and he was 17 [almost 18]... still. Good times.

I have deffinetly done that too many times! but considering how "small" an island i live on im pretty confident ill see the guy again soon enough, though i did go two years without seeing him after graduation! but if its meant to be youll see the guy again! an if not then theres someone even better out there dying to meet you!

I was in London and I met a soldier in the first row of the play Phantom of the Opera. We almost kissed.

I HATE when this happens. And it does happen, wayyy too often. Moral of the story: Don't hesitate to get or give a name and a number if you meet someone you think might deserve it.

This is my life story. I always think of something clever after the fact.

I was in a convenience store when this really really really really really cute tall guy with beautiful eyes started kind of following me (not in a creeper way!) He'd always end up on the aisle I was in and he'd give me this shy smile. But then I paid for my stuff and walked out, and of course I never saw him again.... .He was soooo cute...:))

Next time at least introduce names so you can look them up on facebook later! Hehe.

It happened to me once while applying for a job.

Missed making a potential friend. We've sat next to each other in English class. She was this really pretty red-haired girl and the more she talked about video games, LARPing and comic books, the more I wanted to talk to her. I've had all year. One time she reached over and fixed the collar of my button-up shirt and I FROZE. Don't know why she did it, but that was the only contact we've had.
Fast-forward a year later and I'm at this queer-youth space place and a lot of people were watching movies and hanging out, I walked in late and there she was, with her girlfriend. I knew her girlfriend and we said 'hi' and such, but she kept staring at me, in shock, it looked like. I don't know, I'm no good at reading people. We walked the same direction, I was walking a little behind them to head for the bus stop. When they're waiting for the light to change to go to the other direction, she turns and looks at me again, with that same expression, like she wanted to say something. It was one of the rare occasions in which I allowed myself to make eye-contact. Then, she was dragged (really!) by her girlfriend and walked away. Never saw her again.

We could've been awesome friends. Don't know many girls into comic books. D:

Oh that sucks this has def. happened to me before then I wanted to kick myself for not asking for his number but I'm just really shy as well, so idk if I actually would.

  • Just_Another__Disaster@xanga

Damn! Does he work there, or was he just being a good Samaritan? I might go back to a similar concert & keep my eyes peeled, if i were you. If it's meant to be, it'll happen!

@NikkiAKSU@xanga - Hmm, you should go back when you're not in trouble & just be like "I didn't want to ask you out that day because i was afraid you'd think i was trying to get out of a ticket." He'll totally respect that!

  • NikkiAKSU@xanga

@Just_Another__Disaster@xanga - I don't even know his name or I so would. I tried deciphering the signature on my ticket and I just couldn't figure it out. lol

  • MrsJenBean@xanga

If he didn't bother getting your number, he didn't like you that much. I say, go there one more time, and if he doesn't ask for your information again, let it go.

I met a guy at a bar.. he was the hottest thing I had ever seen. We talked for 30 minutes until last call. I asked him straight up if he wanted my number. He said "Nah, I believe in destiny. If it's right, we will meet again". Ugh. I said "Alright John Cusack, whatever" and left. A few weeks later I was at the same bar and followed my friend who said she wanted to talk to this boy she saw across the bar. She started talking to him, so I turned to his friend, and it was HIM! Then I got all smart, like "Hey look, we meet again". We talked some more, but he still didn't want to make plans to see me again, so I walked away. Nice try with the Serendipity BS. I'm thinking he had a girlfriend. lol.

  • DreamingxLife_quotes@xanga

ferrr sherr.  This happens allll the time to people.  That's why you just throw in there " Oh hey, my name is  ______.  I didn't get yours.."  haha.  and i mean come on.. pretty much everyone has face book... a name is all you need... haha

  • memphisten@xanga

He sounds kinda weird or possibly gay. Not trying to be mean just trying to give you answers.

  • x__mh@xanga

    This all sounds very childish.

  • fields_of_sunflowers@xanga

Why didn't you ask him for his number?

  • SpOnTaNeOuS_sPiTbAlL@xanga

@x__mh@xanga -  that's mean. just because someone enjoys different past times and people doesn't make them childish. to each their own.

annnnnd. to the post: im no red head fan.

  • DragonAlica@xanga

I've had many situation end just as the one you described! In a way I like the mysterious ending like that where all you have left is the image of this guy being totally awesome and the memory of how you met.
