This month's release of Darren Aronofsky's film,
Black Swan, has stirred up a lot of talk not just because of the magnificent acting and twisted plot, because in one very intense scene, Mila Kunis takes an ecstasy-drugged Natalie Portman home and goes down on her.
While I do feel that the scene has been given a bit too much credit, and seems to be overshadowing an otherwise incredible movie, there is no denying how well done it is. The audience is seduced by Mila Kunis just as much as Natalie Portman is, and we are thrilled when Portman finally reaches her orgasm.
This inspired me to think of some other really great sex scenes in movies.
1. Unfaithful: Diane Lane in a slinky black dress making passionate love to a beautiful French man made every middle aged woman wonder why she wasn't having an affair.
2. Titanic: who can forget Leonardo DiCaprio's hand hitting the back window of a steamy car, leaving his hand print behind. This scene was probably the first time I ever remember being turned on, now that I think about it.
3. Taking Lives: Angelina Jolie (before she was 90 lbs and accompanied everywhere by a litter of children) while wearing just a silk robe, is taken up against the wall, on the nightstand, then bed by Ethan Hawke. The scene is perfect because it just seems to be the eruption of sexual tension that had been building throughout the film.
4. Wild Things: Another girl on girl scene, but the scene between Neve Campbel (where has she gone?) and Denisse Richards in the pool is the stuff of legend.
5. Risky Business: Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay do it on a train. 'Nuff said.

What are some of your favorite sex scenes in film?

Personally, I think Titanic's sex scene was classic. They didn't necessarily have to show much nudity but it was still a great scene.
You got my two favorites on the list.."Unfaithful" and "Taking Lives"! lol (Although the scene from "The Notebook" wasn't too bad either..but not as steamy as the other two. haha)
@filipinaxL0VE@xanga - It was.
@WhimsicalOphelia@xanga -YES.
Also, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's sex scene in Mr. And Mrs. Smith just after they've destroyed their house trying to kill each other.
lol, I don't keep track of my favorite sex scenes in movies. actually, they usually just make me feel awkward.
I like the one in the vanilla sky movie and the one in the rave scene in the matrix reloaded where neo and trinity have sex in that cave.
The one in Taking Lives literally made me go upstairs for some one on one. And yeess Atonement's was great too.
When I think of sex scene in a movie... my mind automatically goes to the bath tub scene in Queen of the Damned :]
Ummmm. Jude Law and Keira Knightley in Enemy at the Gates was pretty epic.
Last Tango in Paris
A History of Violence
Team America World Police
Requiem for a Dream
Naked Gun
Howard the Duck
mos people haven't seen this, but one of the last scenes in 9th gate with johnny depp having sex with the devil (in hot-girl-human form) is great.
oh, and black swan was fucking amazing.
@dude_this_world_sux@xanga - Yes yes yes! 9th gate... outside with fire or something in the background. freakin hot!
The pool scene from Showgirls!
The spanking scene from Secretary!
The scene on the floor in Monster's Ball!
@filipinaxL0VE@xanga - So true.
Unfaithful definitely holds some of my favorite sex scenes.Â
I always thought Taking Lives had the most anticipated and, well, most appropriately expressed sex scene. Although the twist later on kind of made it less awesome, haha, but it was a great movie anyway.
And btw Oliver Martinez from Unfaithfull? Italian NOT french
Titanic!
@MiaJoyTheWriter@xanga - YES TO ALL OF THOSE.
Atonement and Mr. & Mrs. Smith!
@Xbeautifully_broken_downX@xanga - it was! we watched it in class (a class on the holocaust) and it was so awkward, but funny. my teacher jokes and goes "they're really playing checkers." and my friend goes, "how they playing checkers, they're on the same side!"
we rewatched it like 3 times too.. we were a weird class.
a couple oldies:
bedroom silhouette in "Top Gun"
at the pottery wheel in "Ghost"
the dance scene in "Scent Of A Woman"; does that count? or is that a 'love scene'?
Ellen Barkin can steam up a screen; Sea Of Love and The Big Easy.
I can't honestly think.
