What's Going On with All This Parental Assault?
I know, that's a weird headline, but I'm being completely serious. What the HELL is going on, world?
Last week a German father castrated his 17-year-old daughter's 57-year-old boyfriend, after police said they couldn't do anything to stop the relationship.
They left him for dead and the man almost did die, except he was able to contact 911.
This week, a woman in New Mexico ripped off her daughter-in-law's nipple.
Yes, a 46-year-old woman ripped off her 30-year-old daughter-in-law's nipple after the woman came between her arguing husband and mother-in-law. Like, completely off.
Mommy dearest grabbed the woman's breast, squeezed, and pulled on the nipple. She wouldn't stop until the daughter-in-law punched her in the face.
According to the Smoking Gun, "when she untucked her shirt she stated her nipple fell on the floor. She stated she picked it up, put into a bag securing it." ...And didn't go to the hospital until two hours later.
This terrifies me. That people are doing things like this terrifies me. Is it just that the we are hearing more about the messed up things crazies are doing or what?
All this senseless violence is troubling to say the least, but I found it especially strange that both cases involve parents. You know, people who are older and should be able to rationalize their thoughts before doing something incredibly stupid.
Sure, parents do have innate rights that are hard to define, but that right certainly stops before abuse or violence.

Why would anyone ever rip someone's nipple off? That would be the last thing I would even think of to do to injure someone. At least the castration makes sense.
But I don't think this is a trend at all. There have always been and will always be crazy people out there. It just so happens most people have kids and families so those people get the brunt of the craziness.
Parents be crazy these days! omgsh.
hahahaha her nipple!! damn. bet she didn't see that one coming.
I really don't think it's a trend..
waaaaaaah. reading that actually made me cringe.
@quasarglow@xanga - agreed. there's also a trend for instant news. (lovelyish, for example?) We have instant access to the quirkiest stories, so we hear about things like this more.2 weeks and 2 cases isn't enough data to conclude any trends.
that lady is crazier if her nipple fell off and she waited 2 hours later to go to the hospital.
Yeah. I don't know what was more alarming to me, though. What the father did to his daughters... boyfriend? Or the fact that people actually condoned it.
You know how crazy mothers-in-law can be.
Why wasn't the husband doing anything while his mom was ripping off his wife's nipple? I can't even imagine it ripping off. Oh man :(
I don't really think it's a trend. There are always going to be people out there who will do ridiculous things, and the internet just makes it easier for us to hear about the most shocking stories of the day.
It is horrific though, and what scared me was how many people said they agree with the guy being castrated...what the fuck is wrong with the world?
lol @ the fact you actually assumed age makes a person more rational.
@Erika_Steele@xanga - hehe, i know right? I hate when people try to argue that age = intelligence. it only equals experience, and not everyone learns from it.
No, we are just hearing more of it. It is like people who think murder is really common, because it always makes the news, when in reality property crime is way more common.
It isn't this way for everyone but for the majority I've found that once you have a kid your IQ drops a few points and your emotions go over logic very often. Like I said, not everyone but I've met too many that just changed in all the wrong ways after having kids. There is a thing called balance that they seem to forget. You can care about your child like they mean the world to you, but don't let it get to your fucking head and make you do stupid shit that is just going to hurt them anyway. Becoming a parent does not make you automatically right, even when it comes to what you think is "best". I hate that kind of attitude, it's so childish.
That is so. scary.
Now my nipples hurt.
In my opinion, the only time it's okay for a parent to intervene in a relationship of their child's is when the child is under-age, and the person they are dating is trouble (and this to me, is only defined as: drug-addict, alcoholic, criminal, or psycho). Once they are of legal age, it's pretty much out of their hands. And it should never, ever come to physical assault of any kind, no matter what age. Adults should know better! They teach us to handle problems with our words rather than fists, so why are they ripping off nipples and castrating people? It's so backwards. They should know better.
Thats creepy and weird at the same time. especially the nipple thing. I mean did that lady just think.. "Oh I should just grab her nipple and yank it off so she would stop it"
If I ever have a daughter and she dates somebody older than me, I would castrate the man myself.
The nipple story I've read about elsewhere. Having a fond paranoia/knowledge of women, I just assumed it as women being crazy, and skipped to the next article.
this is scary. ugh i hope i never encounter that.
