  • Playlists Are For Lovers

Music is a huge part of our everyday lives and, for many of us, music is also closely associated with love.

Every Sunday, we are going to bring y'all songs or videos that have helped us get through the good and the bad, songs that have special significance to us, songs that we think are terrific and want to share with our awesome readers. Go ahead and leave us suggestions for next week in the comments!

This week we have a mix of songs that came out recently and other that hearken back a ways.

Sorry I missed last weekend, guys! It was a pretty hectic one for me. Anyway, hopefully I can make it up to you with some tunes for your respective lazy Sundays!

A Song To Fall In Love To "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes

I have a user submission to thank for this song. It's super beautiful and romantic. No matter who you are, you'll think of someone when this plays. Let your heart be all a-flutter and give this one a listen!

A Song To Jam To "Feelin' This" by Blink-182

When this song came out in eighth grade, I almost crapped my pants. It's seriously one of the greatest songs ever. All right well I'm a little biased just because Blink-182 is my nostalgia band, but hopefully I'm not the only one out there who's obsessed. Here's to us nineties babies!

A Song To Cry To "Out Through the Curtain" by The Hush Sound

The Hush Sound is a super awesome band. Seriously. There isn't one song that they've made that I don't like. They have one of those discographies that you can listen to on shuffle and repeat-- they're timeless. So go ahead and enjoy this tune! It's relaxing (and, admittedly, a little sad and low-key, but hey, that's what this category is all about, eh?). Enjoy, m'dears!

A Song About Your A-Hole Ex "Fuck Was I" by Jenny Owen Youngs

I first heard this song on a Weeds episode. You know, the season 1 finale where Mary Louise Parker's character realizes she's made the horrible mistake of sleeping with a DEA officer. Even if your life isn't EXACTLY like that (and if it is... well, Jesus...), hopefully you'll find this song applicable to your life.

A Song To Remember Your First True Love "Soil, Soil" by Tegan and Sara

    Ah, memories :)
    Enjoy!
