Zoosexuality: Worse than Animal Slaughter? Can Animals Consent?

Zoosexuality doesn't have a clear definition, but it may be interpreted as the following:- the practice of sex between humans and animals (bestiality), or a preference or fixation on such practice. A person who practices zoophilia is known as a zoophile.
Touchy subject, yes? As strange or unsettling as this topic may seem to some, the truth is that there are plenty of men and women across our marvelous globe participating in "horse intercourse", "the canine 69" and "cow-chika-bow" among other things (yes, I'm planning to copyright those). If you thought the subject of gay couples was taboo, I can only imagine the outcry upon hearing of cardinal sins being committed at your local zoo. I'm on a roll, I know.
As an intern for Datingish, I'm trying to uphold a certain quality, while still being able to throw in my unique outlook on life, and exploring the facets of love and relationships, no matter who the participants may be. I understand that there are many sensitive readers who visit the site, as well as others who wish to impose a restriction on anything that they disagree with. Worst case scenario, they'll hire a hit-man on the author. In the interest of our valued readers, and I say this with complete sincerity, I'll make the cut-off before I really get into this topic.
All I ask is that you keep an open mind and understand that I'm creating a forum for interesting debate. Although I like to add in my own brand of humor to these posts, I try to keep a level of seriousness and will not try to impose my beliefs upon anyone else. With this topic in particular, I'm curious about what the average reader thinks, since it's not something that's commonly discussed. I DO NOT CONDONE THIS ACTIVITY, but I do have some questions. Please keep to an intelligent level of debate. I trust you'll all be mature enough. With that said,
For the most part, many believe that sexual acts with animals is comparable to child molestation because neither child nor beast has the capacity to consent. However, the distinct difference here is that we don't slaughter or eat children, and clearly that would be more illegal than a crack house full of immigrant slaves rolling up blunts in assembly line formation. Furthermore, child molestation would psychologically damage the person, whereas an animal doesn't deal with the pressures of society. That right there is a huge difference. This brings me to my first question:
If sex with animals is unethical and likened to rape, why don't we uphold strict laws against the slaughtering of animals, who don't consent to spinning like a record in the 'ol grinder?
You must be thinking, "Because certain animals tickle my taste buds to a watery finish, DUH." The typical zoophile will be caring of his/her pet, even when engaging in sexual activities. Only a small segment of the population gets mounted by their pet dogs though, so their interests aren't exactly top priority. A total of 30 states have concrete laws in effect, while others are undefined. Of those 30 states, 14 list these crimes as being misdemeanors and the rest list them as felonies.
The same people who are casting zoophiles to animal hell are enjoying a nice steak dinner without giving it a second thought. I'm not here to argue about the merits of going on an all-tofu diet and looking like you came straight out of Schindler's List, but in the interest of fairness, we should be investigating the discrepancies in animal rights laws amongst all of this hypocrisy. I'm aware that some animals are domestic, and others are apparently meant to be eaten, but that doesn't explain why the main reason in criminalizing zoosexuality is the lack of consent from animals. Naturally, this leads me into my next question:
Can animals consent to sex with humans?
Here's where it gets difficult. Would a pet dog approaching its owner and making clear, sexual advances be consenting through body language? I've read stories of men and women who would routinely get approached by their pets for sex by being pawed at and mounted. There was no resistance or force involved in these cases from either side, so you can forget about that lawsuit against Scruff McGruff. Couldn't you argue that a child making sexual advances wouldn't give an adult permission to engage in sexual misconduct with them, though?
If you'll refer back to what I said a little earlier, one of the major differences between zoophilia and child molestation is that children are psychologically damaged after such an event, while animals have absolutely no societal pressure to deal with. Another point is that children are more easily manipulated than animals are. In quite a few cases, being insistent with animals could leave you injured because they specifically reject your jungle fever. In the case of animals, I assume drugs and liquor won't work, either.
There's no age of consent with animals at all, because they're generalized as remaining in the same, blank, child-like state until they pass on. We don't understand the exact thought process of animals so it's difficult to say, but based on visual evidence and the very nature of survival, we know that they have the ability to process thoughts. Ask any dog owner, and they'll tell you how intelligent they are. Dogs were given the title "man's best friend" for a reason.
In the case of forcing animals into sexual activities, I can definitely say that it should be punishable by law, just like forcing another person into sex is. After that, we should make inanimate objects like dildos illegal to use for pleasure because it could potentially be haunted by a sexually deviant pervert ghost child. I've never been to the "other side", but I hear they have relatively cheap courses on how to haunt and sexually disturb the living.
Is it not true that we can often recognize an animal's emotional state simply by looking at them, or reading their body language? Just like we feel, animals can feel as well. It's not illegal to pet them, hold them, kiss them or force-bathe them even when they're practically using your face as a nail filer. Of course, some will object to bathing animals by force, but it's not against any law I'm aware of. Now, I'm sure if your pet has a dislike of water and an itching for something that doesn't involve fleas, they'd much rather and quite happily take you up on a tantalizing offer.
I absolutely love animals, in the most platonic of ways. I would even consider going out on a date with one by taking it for a walk. It's quite easy to develop feelings for your pet, especially when it's reciprocated and creates a familial bond. Sometimes, the bond isn't as familial as we like to think, and it goes down a dark abyss. Some have actually expressed the feeling of love for their animal, in both a caring and sexual manner. Others don't even partake in the love making despite their attraction.
One of the major issues I have with these laws is that they make the assumption that animals are dumb and clueless. Animals do consent when mating with one another, so why is an animal incapable of consenting with a human through body language as well? These are all questions I've had floating in my head, so I figured I'd release them in an attempt to feel like less of a creep, even though it'll backfire and I'll have an angry mob after my ass in no time.
Zoophiles have mostly tight-knit communities on the Internet, where they discuss the matter and exchange personal pictures and videos of sexual acts with their pets. The distribution of video and images is illegal, so a lot of these forums are hosted in places where there's no law against distribution. Although this is an example of modern-day communities, depictions of zoophilia can be traced back to around 8000 BC in Northern Italy. There is also mention of it in The Bible.What's your take on this? If you're open enough to admit to being intimate with your pet or having done it in the past, it would greatly contribute to the debate. Do you or have you known someone that was a zoophile?
Sincerely,
Nuñez Love DoctorCertified with a PhD in Potentially Explosive Topics and Sex With Inanimate Objects.

well, I'm against eating animals...both as a food source and sexually.
My dog was sexy. Then he died.
Fucking heartworms.objectively, the reason why we have an age of consent is because we assume that anyone that age or above is not only capable of giving consent, but INFORMED consent. meaning, they are 100% fully aware of the potential risks of sexual activity and willing to share equal responsibility with their partner. not only risks for themselves, but for their partner as well. so, we have banned zoosexuality because animals are not capable of informed consent. they do not understand things like STDs, pregnancy, etc. and they never will.
TL;DR
but something to do with animal love and dogs in dresses?
aw, come on. humanity doesn't have enough problems without people sexin' up their puppies? gooood grief.
@quasarglow@xanga - yea,I don't believe animals have the mental capacity nor desire to fall in love with a human either.
Well, the comments on this should be...interesting, lol.
@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - What's the reasoning behind some states and other countries having no law against zoosexuality, though (like, say... Utah and Alabama)? Also, humans can't impregnate animals, so that isn't a concern at all. As for STD prevention, why can't there be an option for condom use when the option is available for human-to-human relations? Aside from that, the chances of passing on an STD to an animal are extremely slim, and most if not all cross-species infections aren't major.
@lonelystrangergirl@xanga - I'm sorry to hear that. :[
I've yet to experience the loss of a close family pet.
@NikBv@xanga - Basically.
I've heard animal lovers say that their pet(s) love them unconditionally, so I'm not surprised if some owners do have relations with them because they see the pet similar to a "human" and treat their pet as if the pet was their own family member/friend. I don't condone the sexual behavior and don't think animals can give coherent consent, but I think these pet lovers, who are very attached to their pets and might say that their pet loves them unconditionally but do we really know, and they might take the dog whisperer defense and say that they can interpret their pet's feelings, therefore, that's probably why they think it is consensual.
@to_pretty_to_die@xanga I disagree with the animal part. Animals know about pregnancy, they know about sex, and it is actualy physically impossible for a human to get or give an STD to an animal. The most that could happen is(with consentual animal/human sex) is a urinary tract infection if your not carefull. But animals cannot get humans pregnant and vice versa. But as someone who has been intimate wth dogs my opnion may be biased. My opnion is too each his own.
Seriously...?
Along with my Girlfriend came a chihuahua who has taken to me as something of the pack leader. Anyway, little Suzie occassionially humps my leg, and has been known to do the crotch sniffing thing with my Girlfriend. Slightly cute for about 30 secs then I say "no". Some interspecies breeding does happen in nature but the instinct is breeding... although my chihuahua exhibits looks that I interpret as pleasure during and after humping

"What's the reasoning behind some states and

Utah and Alabama)?"
*shrug* each state can make their own laws. that's why depending on what state you're in, a 16-year-old either has the ability to consent to sex with an adult, or can't even buy cold medicine without parental consent. that'd be something you'd have to check out. all i can say is, after studying ancient law, the reality is that most laws only exist after it is necessary to have them.
"Also, humans can't impregnate animals, so that isn't a concern at all."
well, consider how many closely related species we can cross-breed. i've never heard of any research done to prove that humans and their closest relatives (chimps, for example) can't procreate. and a 30-year-old man couldn't technically impregnate a pre-pubescent girl.
@Courtney - i'm distinguishing between having knowledge and following instinct.
Ok, intern for datingish...Why are you all using bold, italics, and underlines with such frequency? I can see one or two sentences a post, but this is ridiculous. It is annoying to read, really. I bet you had an interesting point, but when I get to a sentence that is bold, italics, and underlined, I just stop reading.
@Courtney - Just because non-human animals know what sex is doesn't mean they are consenting or are capable of giving consent in a way that humans can understand. That is the same argument you could give for justifying raping humans or even pedophilia.
@JulieAnn2010@xanga - Dogs sniff crotches because that is how they remember information about other dogs and humans. As for the humping, just get the poor dog spayed.
If you look at the records for inter-species sexual encounters that have naturally occurred in the wild, it always occurs between animals that are closely related. (i.e. different species of monkeys, different types of equine-like animals, etc.) To try to use 'nature' as a means justify sexual relations between humans and dogs, humans and cats, etc.. Well,. that's a bit of a stretch.
It's just yuck.
That said, eating animals is motivated by our human need to eat in order to survive. I was a vegetarian for five years, so I'm not saying that today, when we have so many dietary alternatives, that it's ethically sound to eat animals, but it at least serves a purpose in survival rather than a mere sexual desire.. The reason why is because where sex between humans is concerned, that is also motivated by our will to survive (i.e. reproduce) but not where sex between humans and other species is concerned.
Plus, it is just plain gross.. It just really is.
As a zoosexual myself, my opinions would be biased, I'm also not much for arguing with people, when I see articles like these or see threads in forums asking for people's opinions, I dare not state my opinion anymore, or try to explain the inner workings of how zoosexuals function, asking for opinions is asking for trouble, because we all know what the majority will say, and anyone who opposes the majority gets the crap end of the stick, I'd like to state however that I am open for conversing with individuals who would like to know more about it from my standpoint without going into explicit details about my sex life, I'm probably one of the very few zoosexuals who are completely out about who they are to the world.
@Sydney - i'd love to hear your take on it if you wouldn't mind PMing me. =]
i think the reason most people are against it now is because of so many gray areas of rape and of false accusations. i, personally, don't understand the desire to have sexual relationships with an animal, but i also don't really like the idea of having sex with someone you can't have a loving relationship with, so idk. i think people should have a loving relationship, and i think that involves communication on a higher level than body language. (be it vocal language, sign, or even morse code if you please!)

@quasarglow@xanga - agreed
@LupusInvictus@xanga - I agree with you. There is a bit too much bolding, italizing and whatnot. It's annoying. lol
@LupusInvictus@xanga - @Hinase@xanga - Just a quick reply because I have to do some writing (I'll get to all the other comments later). The reason why we're encouraged to bold and italicize is because some users tend to prefer skimming through the longer posts, so bolded or italicized sections will usually highlight the main points.
It's possible that I may have gone overboard this time, haha. It wasn't edited though, so I assume it's fine. Due to the feedback, I'll go ahead and tone it down a little.
@AsylumBlue@mancouch - I understand that. But, more than likely people will skip it if there is too much of that. I think, no matter what people will always skim and not read it, for whatever reasons. I encountered a very rude person that just skimmed my post and still made a comment. That, I don't understand. But yeah, too much is bad. Moderation is the key. I'd keep it a minimal.
