  • Playlists are for Lovers

Music is a huge part of our everyday lives and, for many of us, music is also closely associated with love.

Every Monday we are going to bring y'all songs or videos that have helped us get through the good and the bad, songs that have special significance to us, songs that we think are terrific and want to share with our awesome readers. Go ahead and leave us suggestions for next week in the comments!

This week we have a mix of songs that came out recently and other that hearken back a ways.

A Song to Fall In Love To "Reasons to Love You" by Meiko

This song is as sweet as it is beautiful. I've got user loveJaybayy@xanga to thank for it! So if you guys like what I post, but have a few songs that you think would fit well, go ahead and comment, and I'll check them out!

A Song For When You Can't Get Your SO Out of Your Head "Half Crazy" by Jukebox the Ghost

This is my token "I live in Seattle and can't help but be a giant hipster, so I'm going to share a band no one's heard of" post. Anyway, Jukebox the Ghost is pretty fantastic, and they also have a pretty cute logo, so they get bonus points in my book :) Check 'em out!

A Song to Cry To "I Always Knew" by Tilly and the Wall

When I broke up with my high school boyfriend, I listened to this song pretty much perpetually for about three months. It was basically my food (not that I'd eat food perpetually for three months...). It's sweet, fairly short, beautiful, and its lyrics are therapeutic. If you just broke up with someone and are looking to feel better, this is the tune for you.

A Song to Get Busy To "Love You Madly" by Cake

    Yeah. Pretty much.

A Song To Remember Your First Love To "Parentheses" by The Blow

I've got sort of a theme of croon-ey indie singers going today, so I thought I'd keep it up with this adorable snippet from The Blow! It's got some fantastic harmonies, and it's just all around really upbeat and whimsical.

    Enjoy!
