Ban Circumcision on Newborns!
Make it illegal, refuse to spread-eagle!
Skin removal is mutilation, demand emancipation!
Give the child a choice, at 8 days old you have no voice!
Genital rights, hear our plight!
Indoctrination, what's the price?
A life-long victim of this vice!Rah! Rah! Rah! The march commences, and picket signs are raised in unison like an army of heavenward swords bellowing for justice. I can't imagine anything of the sort ever happening, but it's a cause worth fighting for. Foreskin preservation ranks up there along with curing cancer and rigging the Oscars as one of the most important topics of our time.
This archaic practice serves absolutely no purpose, and a study has estimated that 117 neonatal circumcision-related deaths occur annually in the United States. Now, this is completely preventable if parents forgo the ritual of degradation. However, circumcision is still being put in practice and a good amount of the time it's being done out of tradition's sake.
It's no secret that cut penises are more prominent in the United States when compared to Europe. As far as aesthetics go, you'll get wildly different opinions from women in the U.S. and those in countries where the circumcision rate is below 20 percent.
American-made pornography is littered with hairy, overweight men thrusting their skinless ding-dongs, so the average American female will consider cut penises to be the standard, accepted, and expected look. In Europe, women are exposed to uncircumcised penises far more often, and find circumcised penises to vary between looking "absolutely hideous" and being a "godless abomination." Yes, I'm a fan of using hyperbole, deal with it.
To get back on track, the circumcision rate varies a great deal between countries. The point I'm making is that circumcision is absolutely unnecessary, and every male should be given the right to decide whether or not they want to get circumcised at a later stage in life. The key here is choice. Unlike a name, a parent shouldn't be allowed to decide how sensitive their child's penis will be over time.
The foreskin allows for a natural lubrication to form, most likely in place to prevent yourself from feeling like a dried up 84-year-old, dousing the 'ol rod in grape seed oil. In contrast, if a male's foreskin just doesn't do it for his masturbation sessions in front of the mirror, it can be removed through a procedure, which would avoid the chances of a sexual partner's gag reflexes violently spazzing out, resulting in projectile vomit from the sight of such ugly, smelly skin.
We need to start this revolution, man. It's like, hip and rebellious and stuff. In fact, circumcision is becoming less popular in the U.S. so it's a great time to ready those Molotov cocktails so we can take out the authorities responsible for giving parents the choice, disregarding the child's possible wishes to have a fully clothed glans.
How do you feel about parents having the right to decide whether or not they want their son to be circumcised? Do you prefer the look of a cut or uncut penis? Would your preference influence your decision on whether or not to cut your potential, future child?
**EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION**
I'm aware that we can't remove circumcision as a religious practice, but I do believe it's unnecessary and should be unlawful for reasons outside of religious practices or medical issues. There are, in fact, places where circumcision has been rejected and is only allowed for the aforementioned reasons.Sincerely,
Nuñez Love DoctorCertified with a PhD in Foreskin Sciences and Hyperbole.

Ummm. I didn't have it done with my son, but, I do have to add that in uncommon cases, some males do have to be circumsized later in life due to the foreskin not pulling back far enough... yes. =(
I don't like circumcison as a tradition though.
Well a lot of people do it because in the Bible God made a pact with a group of people, and they said they'd give up that part of themselves and that this would continue throughout their descendants forever. I don't know if it's fair to promise your kids will do things (so I take some issue with Baptism at birth- if you're God's, you must do it yourself). But that's the reasoning, which isn't so terrible.
I don't think I'll do it when I have kids but that's just me. I think there are more worthwhile ways to be Christian (and I don't know if that counts anyway, because it was the Old Testament.)
I think you have a point in that it is archaic and largely for aesthetic purposes. Probably for the best that it dies out. I think that, being a female, I tend to be more blasse about this topic than I should be. However I'm not sure what your point was in saying,
"it can be removed through a procedure, which would avoid the chances of a
sexual partner's gag reflexes violently spazzing out, resulting in
projectile vomit from the sight of such ugly, smelly skin"
is this sarcasm? I mean, isn't the procedure what you are advocating against needing? Do uncircumcised penises ever actually give someone a gag reflex? I don't honestly know enough about it to really... know if that (gag reflex) is definitely sarcasm.
Ew...I can't stand a guy that hasn't been circumsized. I find it nasty. But my sister's husband is European and it doesn't bother her at all. Just depends on the individual's preference. But I'm not going to lie, if I have a son he is getting circumsized. I don't want him to wish he had been later in life when he doesn't have money and is scared of the pain. It's a social norm in America. I'm American. I feel no need to be unique and nonconforming on something so stupid.
I totally spelt circumcise wrong. Sorry.
http://www.trosch.org/the/circumcision-cancer.pdf
It's only 5 pages and it's written by a medical doctor. Read it. Very informative.
well since i live in america i'm gonna do what is normal in america. duh.jk. honestly though, my son is circumcised. since my husband has a penis i let him make the decision for our son. since he is circumcised he thought it'd be best if our son were too. there are pros and cons either way you look at it. and it all boils down to choice.
There is such a thing as female circumcision. It is illegal and considering mutilation. Apparently the guy's sensitivity doesn't matter. And the skin doesn't have to be smelly if you WASH everyday.
wow, I am amazed to know there is a movement for this... lol
I find it is more sanitary, less clean up.Also, I don't think this choice should come down to people who want or don't want me circumcizing my child. I haven't done much research on the matter, but how would any of you feel if there were people telling you circumcision should be mandatory?
This isn't your place to tell people what to do with their kids, nor how to raise them.
When you have kids, do what you want, but don't try to press your opinion on others, the choice is theirsAs for your neonatal fatality rate, you do realize that normal and very common medical procedures also run a chance of becoming fatal?
I just don't understand the point of banning somethimg like this.

Some do it for religious reasons (Jews). That is one thing. I'm not going to argue with someone's religion and personally I don't care only because they are at least partially anesthetized (as far as I've heard from an orthodox Jew). I don't think I'd do that to my son....I'm not a Jew and see no point.
I would leave it up to my husband to decide, since he's a male so he's the one that can imagine more how an uncircumsized American guy would face possible insecurities (gym class, sex...)
The facts remain as follows:
1) Intact men are FOUR TIMES more sensitive than circumcised men. As such, intact men have much more fulfilling sex lives than circumcised men. Further, circumcised men have to masturbate more, use harder strokes, and engage in more deviant sex practices to get the same amount of sexual gratification as intact men.
2) 80% of the world's men are intact, and less than 1/6 of 1% of men will EVER require a circumcision. Most men who were circumcised fall into three categories: American, Muslim, or Jewish.
3) Circumcision is no substitute for abstinence or safer sex practices and confers no more benefit when it is used in conjunction with these two.
4) Circumcision causes psychological trauma. By introducing pain into the area of the brain that governs sexual pleasure, many men report having flashbacks or painful memories conjured up during sexual acts. Further, circumcision has been shown to interrupt maternal bonding and normal breastfeeding patterns, and has been linked to an increase in anxiety to other medical procedures such as vaccination.
5) Over half a million men (including myself) have restored their foreskins to gain back some of the sensitivity and function of a normal (yes, intact is NORMAL) penis, which includes a smooth gliding action, natural lubrication, and a more comfortable and satisfying experience for both partners (not to mention, intact men are less likely to suffer from problems such as bowed erections, premature ejaculation [despite being more sensitive], inability to orgasm, and erectile dysfunction. Further women are four times more likely to achieve orgasm when having intercourse with an intact partner).
The foreskin is not a birth defect. It is a necessary part of the male anatomy for the penis to function properly. The lies perpetrated by the American medical community about MGM are just that: lies. Foreskins are big business. Circumcision is a big money maker in the US, with doctors benefitting from the procedure itself, and for the harvested foreskins, which go into making products such as anti-aging creams (no, this is not just some conspiracy theory, this is fact, look it up).
@Jane - Actually, you're wrong. It is no longer a societal norm in America. In 2009, only 33% of boys born in America were mutilated at birth, and that number continues to drop as new information surfaces about this harmful procedure.
I'm glad I had it done to me even though I'm sure I didn't like it at the time, haw haw. I think it should continue as a standard practice.
I don't see the big deal honestly. I didn't have much of an opinion on it before, and my boyfriend now isn't circumsized and I didn't see the big deal then, either. It's just skin, jeez people. As long as they clean it well it's fine. Genitals aren't supposed to be pretty anyways, there's a reason they say "bumpin' uglies."
I wouldn't know the difference. I've seen a lot of naked men, but usually not in optimal lighting conditions, so I can't tell if he's been "cut" or not. I also haven't slept with enough different people to know the difference.
I don't know where I stand on this, but if I ever have a son, I want it to be his choice, not mine.
I didn't read the article, but it does deserve to be banned.
@ForeverLove_xx@xanga - .........
@BingleBot@xanga - Yeah, unfortunately, in some cases the foreskin isn't able to retract due to tightness, and a removal is necessary. I will just compare it to getting your appendix removed. It's not done at childbirth, but it may need to be removed later on in some cases.
@Sirius_Fan_Girl@xanga - Completely agree about baptism. It's illogical to blindly follow a religion because you were indoctrinated and raised by your parents to follow their beliefs. I don't know why it's considered proper to do it at such an early age. This is another case where it should be left up to the child to decide later. As we've come to see though, religious practices are rarely challenged.
@ScarletMoth@xanga - Oh, it was slightly sarcastic, haha. But as for the procedure, I'm against it being a decision that parents make instead of the child later on. If they want to remove it for whatever reason later, they're more than welcome to do so. As you'll see, the comment below yours being an example, there are women who are disgusted by the sight or uncut penises, which is what my comment was getting at.
@Jane - I respect your opinion, but I'll have to remind you that circumcision has been on the decline in America for a few years now. Also, I believe the reason why kids wish they had been circumcised is because they become self-conscious when they realize that 90% of American porn stars are cut.
@Fairywife@xanga - I understand where they're coming from, actually. A good portion of males in their teens become self-conscious when they realize that the men they see in porn have all been circumcised, and their penis looks different. Then they hear stories about how some girls hate uncut penises, and well, you know how that goes.
@PrincessPatriotII@xanga - This is just as informative, I think:
http://www.cirp.org/library/disease/cancer/
@beebizzle@xanga - Yep, pretty much. This is why I'm in favor of the child making the decision later, since it's a choice and only the kid will know what's best for him. There's actually a movement of men who have been circumcised, who are trying to restore their foreskin, haha.
@sassypenguin@xanga - Exactly. I always see the argument that uncut men have unpleasant odors coming from the region, but that isn't an issue at all if they take the three seconds to was it in the shower.
@aCe_KeiAnar@xanga - The point is that parents nor doctors should be allowed to make the decision. All children should be left intact, and given the choice to keep the skin or remove it when they're older.
@i_saw_myself_morior@xanga - I mentioned to someone else that religion is hardly ever questioned, so as long as it's a religious practice, no one is going to try to stop them from following that tradition.
@etoile_violette@xanga - You're absolutely right about the insecurities that uncircumcised children face in America, which is a shame. I believe children should be educated about the matter to ease their insecurities. However, circumcision is on the decline in America, so soon these insecurities will start to vanish in the coming generations.
@LG - Right on, great post.
@AsylumBlue@mancouch - Good comparison. I agree.
@aCe_KeiAnar@xanga - Right, that's why people are should be aloud to kill their children. I mean it's up to the parent to decide whether or not too feed them, whether or not to break their legs, whether or not to mutilate their penis. Fucking dicks, thinking they can tell me what I can and can not do with my child. I'll fucking burn a cigarette in his fucking arm if I want!
@AsylumBlue@mancouch - *Takes a bow* Thank you. I'm always ready and willing to deliver the hardcore, chilling, and disturbing facts about this harmful, barbaric procedure.
@LG - Great information. I didn't know that only 33% of American boys were circumsized last year, where did you find that statistic? It's great that it's a declining practice in America, but it's not true that circumsized men are mostly Americans, Muslims, and Jews. My husband is from South Korea and he was circumsized because it's the norm there too.
@PrincessPatriotII@xanga - Well doesn't everything give you cancer, though?
@ForeverLove_xx@xanga - Agreed.
@New_dog@xanga - If that wasn't sarcasm, why do you believe it should continue to be a common practice? Enlighten me.
@ForeverLove_xx@xanga - Sadly, it's a big deal for some women, who find uncut penises repulsive.
@EccentricSiren@xanga - That's great to hear. Grab a Molotov cocktail on your way out.
@Bushy_Tailed@xanga - You should read it >:[
