  • Help! Does Anyone Have One Year Anniversary Suggestions?

    Okay, so here's the deal:

    Usually I'm really good at presents. I've gotten my boyfriend tons of cool things throughout the year we've been dating, but now I think I've used up all of my ideas!

    I know for the first time in our relationship he's actually putting thought into my present.  Usually for birthdays and all I tell him what I want because, like most guys, he wouldn't be able to come up with an idea without my help.

    Any thoughts and suggestions?  The only two things I came up with were a personalized calendar, or maybe a personalized Phillies t-shirt because he's a big fan. I want to get him something really special, because we never celebrated the months we've been together.

    So, what do I get an 18 year old guy for a one-year anniversary gift? Prices are irrelavant, for the most part, any ideas are welcomed!

    I'm honestly not sure. I'll be struggling for the upcoming one year anniversary soon..so I'm not quite sure. Maybe something simple and comes from your heart? Maybe make a special dinner for the two of you guys or bake something good and tasty for him?

    Or take him out to a nice restaurant or have a whole day planned with fun activities..

    get some sort of bottle with a stopper in it, fill it part of the way with sand, and then put a love note in it- a poem, or a memory of you two, or even a map of all the places you guys have gone together and that are special.

    I go with tradition. A marriage anniversary gift for the first year is paper. Like, tickets to a show, or a letter you write or something.

    For one year dating anniversary, I'd go with experience gifts, like a trip to the place where you had your first date.

    @SeeBeeWrite@xanga - throughout the year we've been dating/end quote

    They are just dating.

    If money is no object, how about renting a cabin near a lake for a romantic weekend. For our first anniversary I chartered a boat ride to Key West and rented a room at a real nice Bed & Breakfast. Her response? "You did all this by yourself?". We had such a great time we didn't want to leave.

    I think what would be a sweet idea is a scrapbook or a huge photo frame over his wall and in it will contain all the most memorable photos of the both of you together:)

    I got my bf a scrapbook for his birthday and we plan to get the huge photo frame when we hit 1-2 years x]

    @Hinase@xanga - I might actually just do the dinner thing, along with something else.

    @lostonlove@xanga - this is actually a really good idea, so cute and creative!

    @SeeBeeWrite@xanga - I don't think he'd be down for a concert, but I was considering hockey tickets. :]

    @Irish_Russian@xanga - Unfortunately, he's still a senior in high school and there is noo way his mother would ever be down for us going away.  REALLY wish we could though.

    @lforletty@xanga - I did the photo thing for christmas last year, and the scrapbook for valentine's day this past year!!  :/

    I would cook him his favorite dinner and watch his favorite show/movie with him- basically, a date centered around his interests and yours (and both, if you can make it happen!).  I did that for my third anniversary with my ex boyfriend.

    my 1 year with my SO is coming up and I got us a night's stay at a bed and breakfast, and we'll probably wander around the town or go somewhere nearby for the day. I think it's a great idea because I'm more into experience gifts (going somewhere and making memories) than material gifts.

    Um my boyfriend and I don't really give gifts for anniversaries. We just spend time together and celebrate the time we've been together. For his birthday I gave him a cubs thermos filled with tootsie rolls and I put a picture of me and a note in it. He loves the cubs, tootsie rolls are his favorite, he had been complaining about not having a picture of me for his care. The note was a special touch. He loved it. For Christmas I got him a flannel shirt (his favorite shirts are plaid and flannel lol) and some hand warmers for when he goes hunting in the cold or snowplows....or something. For Christmas he got me a camera because my last one broke and I love taking pictures. For my birthday he got me this stunning diamond necklace. For my first birthday while we were dating he gave me our first kiss

    The best gift I've gotten recently was actually from my brother for being in his wedding. He got all the groomsmen a Swiss Army Knife. I carry the damn thing everywhere. I use it daily.

    Seriously, it's manly, practical, and I know you said price isn't a problem, but they're well within most people's budgets.

    It's mine and my boyfriends' one year anniversary in two weeks!  I didn't know really what to get him, so I got him a bunch of Under Armor stuff because that's useful and he wanted it, but I also totally exceeded what I thought were the depths of my lameness and did something completely sentimental.  I wrote down 365 reasons why I love him and put them in this cute box with a bunch of picture frames on the sides and pictures of us.  The first 200 reasons were easy, but after that, it got really hard!  It probably took more thought than anything I've ever written in my life, but I think he's really going to like it-- even if he won't ever show it to anyone.

    Also, @PsuedoEuphoric we are going to Disneyland.

    For me and my boyfriend's one year in september, I got him this totally rad fishing rod case. lol. Because he's the kind of guy that absolultely LOVES anything having to do with his outdoorsy stuff. He was pretty ecstatic. Just go based on his hobbies or whatever it is that he loves.
