So I just moved into a house full of nine girls.
Yeah. Our shower is clogged pretty much all the time.I met one of my fabulous roommates just a couple of weeks ago and now I absolutely love her. One of our recent conversations revealed the fact that she spent quite a bit of time in Ireland, and told me that today, October 4th, is Irish "Get the Shift" Day.
What does "getting the shift" mean, you ask? It means makin' out.
Today is national "kiss whoever the hell you want and it don' mean no thang" day. That's awesome.
According my friend, this holiday is sort of "A way to celebrate what they all do anyway. All the time."
Apparently in Irish clubs, it's pretty typical to just go up to anyone, and "get the shift." And the guys don't even ask to come home with you. And they have Irish accents. It's paradise.
What do you say, guys, bring this tradition to America? Go out kissin'!

A strain of mono has immobilized all attractive Irish men, leaving people wondering if "Get the Shift" day is as fabulous as advertised.

Haha at first I was like... wait, they all do that all the time?
but then I thought about it and yeah I used to live there during high school/ part of college and guys at clubs will just randomly come up and start dancing/making out with you! no buying drinks, no chit chat, (which is what I've experience in the US/Canada) just straight to the point, no strings attached make-out sesh on the dance floor!

I was driving home today and was just having this strange urge to make out and I never get like that..I mean, that badly. But it'd be cool. Just to kiss someone and it not be a booty call at the same time, just kissing. And not a relationship.
