"I'm gunna wrap your legs around my head and wear you like the crown you are."I'm sure many of you have seen the movie
Youth In Revolt and recognize this line.
I think it's absolutely brilliant and another blogger (female) recently posted agreeing. She said something along the lines of if her guy said that to her in person, she'd be totally swept.
That got me thinking, in a real life scenario (after hearing a great, seductive, line like this watching the movie),
would it be okay to re-use it in the bedroom, or would that just seem cheesy and lazy? I do already come up with my own lovey-dovey, romantic, and (somewhat cheesy) seductive stuff for my girlfriend and I, but some are just too good to pass up, you know?
I'm lucky so far in that my gal hasn't seen this movie yet, so I could technically get away with it. But then again, she will eventually see it, not to mention I want to show it to her. So if I say the line before she sees it, it'll tarnish the memory.
What do you think? Is it okay to re-use seductive movie lines in real life?

I'm all for using movie lines. But unless the tone is really super serious, I would be prepared for you or her or both to laugh at them.
My first kiss had "Here's looking at you, kid" from Casablanca as a prelude.No. Lol. I'd laugh, defeating the purpose of using such a line. How's about we stick to original conversation?
Lol The guy i'm seeing used a pickup line on me that was so surprising that it kind of worked...He said "Hey baby, are you a farmers daughter because i'd like to herd my cattle into your fertile valley." So epic that it made him catch my eye in a crowded room at a party.
I'd die of laughter. Not really a way to 'set the moment'.
Maybe if the line had a significant connection to the relationship? Lets say..me and a boy used to watch 'Hes Just Not That Into You' all the time, it wouldnt be outta line if he came up to me and said 'You are my exception' :P
@RainbowDreams_GrayLife@xanga - omg, thats awesome! If my husband said that to me, I'd totally go for it! lol, only if my husband said it though...
I think lines from movies can work, if she's seen the movie. If she hasn't, and she thinks "omg how sweet is my man?!?" then she sees the movie, it ruins it. It makes you look fake. But if it's a line from like, her favorite movie, or the movie from your first date, then yeah it's cheesy, but it's also cute. I mean, if my husband pulled out a quote from Garden State, like
"I don't want to waste another moment of my life without you in it" or the whole thing about the ellipsis, I'd cry.
I've never had it happen before to me..so I wouldn't really know.
Watch that King of Queens episode in the first season that addresses this. Because your girlfriend may take that line to heart and assume you came up with it yourself, and then when she finds out where it really came from, she may be really disappointed. Just a thought.
Noo definitely not haha
Lol I don't know. I think it's okay if you're trying to be sexy AND funny. If your girlfriend is the type that will just laugh it off and then continue with whatever, then it's fine. But she should definitely see the movie before you say it. She might be a tiny bit annoyed if it happens in other way around.
LOL WHAT
"wear you like a crown"? seriously? wtf
If a guy ever used a movie line on me that I actually recognized, I'd probably just roll my eyes and laugh at him. If he was being serious I'd laugh even harder.
Hmm good question. I've never heard anyone use cheezy lines from movies.
