Going From Attractive Woman To Hott Mom
So recently I read an article on Jezebel about how, in the porn world, girls go from playing "barely legal" to "hott mom" at 24 and it got me thinking-- how do you magically go from "hott" to "hott mom" or even "hott older woman" in the eyes of society? And, somewhat less importantly, the minds of teen boys.
I'm puzzled. Can women who are mothers simply be seen as "attractive women," or do they really get transitioned to the label of "attractive moms?" When does our age make us "older?"
In the case of Angelina Jolie, I think she avoids transitioning from attractive in her own right to attractive mom, for whatever reason, and so does Jessica Alba. Why? Probably because they were known to be super smokin' before they become moms.
What about in the case of actresses who are older, like Catherine Keener?
Keener is a mother, attractive, and an older woman. Interestingly, in most of her recent and well known movies, like "Where the Wild Things Are" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin?" she plays a mom. But-- and I could be wrong-- I think she is most often filed under "hott older woman."So we have established that, for these ladies in Hollywood, attractiveness come before their personal (and fairly well known) roles as mothers.
Celebrities aside, what about regular women?
To be considered a MILF-- urgh, I can't tell you how much I hate that term-- I don't think men require a woman to be as attractive as they would childless woman.
Ever since the sixth grade, people have told me that my mom is hott. Which is fine, because she is an attractive lady. But I think if one of my guy friends saw her and didn't know she was a mom, she would be considered a little less attractive, which is so bizarre when you think about it. She'd just be a good looking older (than them, anyway) woman.
Similarly, I think that how attractive a woman is varies with age.
Don't get me wrong, in a perfect world people would assess you for who you are, not your looks or station in life. But we don't live in a perfect world. And I'm not going to pretend like I don't ever label people a certain way in my head before I get to know them. (And seriously, let's be honest with each other, OK? It's human nature and the problem with labeling only arises when your opinion isn't flexible). So spare me those comments, please.
I want to see how we categorize people (in this case, women), and what seems to be the most important label to your brain.
So, I'm curious-- in your head, do you assign life role (like "mother"), age, or level of attractiveness when assessing women you don't know? When does a woman become "older"? And why do you this is?

I think the theory behind it is that when a woman ages, or has a child, she lets herself go a bit.
Most of the time, anyway,
and when guy sees a girl, and afterward, or beforehand realizes that she's a mom it's like "WHOA, you're a HOT mom." not "hott" (wtf is the difference anyway)
like, they're surprised to see a woman is such a good looking state, when she's given birth, and carried a child (or multiple)
that example pic of angelina kinda made me laugh though. I mean, lol... not the one I would have chosen for a "hot mom" pic.
this was painful to read with so many grammar and spelling mistakes.
that aside, i think people just use the term "hot mom" because they don't expect mothers to be hot (dumb, i know); so it's kind of a novelty to some men (and women?) when one is. that's just my guess though.
you're right. younger men who ogle me know right away i'm a mom, even when i'm not with my kid and husband. younger and single ladies are just way more attractive because, well, they're younger and single.
I'm just curious, what's with spelling hot, 'hott?'
Kicks? Giggles?
i think that they appeal of moms is that they get a one-time tumble with someone who'll return to being committed to other things
i think you're overthinking this. it's a matter of opinion, plain and symple. no need to psychoanalyze it.
@Murphy_Rants@xanga - that seriously annoyed me haha
I think hot mom is assigned to moms who are still hot. Plain and simple. They bounced back from having babies and their bodies and faces still look incredible. I don't like her, but here's an example: Jennifer Lopez. Gorgeous before twins, gourgeous after twins. I saw her latest movie and her body is still amazing and looks like she didn't push two bowling balls through her pelvic region and out her vag (not that I saw her southernmost region).
A hot(t) mom or a milf are attractive women who look like they never had kids, despite the evidence of the little ragamuffins hanging on them like orangatans.
Moms are considered attractive when they still look good. I have a neighbor who has had two kids and she is absolutely gorgeous and then my other neighbor who is the same age as her is attractive, but not gorgeous. The first neighbor is just really pretty and the other neighbor is mom pretty. I don't really know why this is or what the difference between them is. One is tall and skinny, the other is a little shorter and she's still fit and has a good body, but it's not as skinny. I know a lot more guys who think the one who is 'mom attractive' is a lot prettier than the other neighbor. I'm not sure if this is because she gives off more of a motherly vibe and she's more laid back or if it's because of looks. Anyway, regardless of either things, I've had a lot of friends tell me that my dad is a DILF which is mildly disturbing.
@StillNotaPrettyGirl@xanga - What? You don't. Fragment every sen. Tence you type. And spell one word. Two different ways. In the same line. For no logical reason. And avoid proof. Reading?
Hot parents are parents who bounce back well, without letting themselves go despite the stress of children that forces them to put themselves and their appearance last, and still look as attractive as the days of pre-pregnancy. One of my 19 year old coworkers says he loves cougars, but would really prefer a MILF above all. That they're hot says they're bangable, and that they're mothers says they're sweet and nurturing and will offer him a ride home afterwards. He's clearly a winner in life.
Well, you basically stated the implication in your example of your friends + your mom... mothers inherently have a "not sexy" vibe. So if people think your mom is hot (knowing she's your mom), that implies they're pleasantly surprised because they would have expected someone who didn't look as great as she does. Heh.
@pinkdagger@xanga - BAHAHAA.
urgh... sorry about all those errors guys, that was super embarrassing-- too many re-drafts will do that too you and your mind will stop working.
@Murphy_Rants@xanga - it rather amuses me, idk haha. takes me back to grade school when we specifically spelled it that way to designate attractiveness.
@sunflowersforlove@xanga - i have a "dilf" as well. somehow it is much more jarring to hear.
I wana be a hot mom when i become a mom!! i will too! Im not gona let myself go
Well im 23 and a mom and my 16 year old step daughters friends totally consider me a MILF. I mean I was attractive before the baby but ive worked really hard to lose the weight and im even skinnier than i was before. I really think that ive come into myself alot since having the baby and im totally more confident which i think is more attractive than what you look like.
