Missing Chef Found In Wife's Freezer
Last week the body of a well known French chef Jean-Francois Poinard was found in his common law wife's freezer.His wife, Guylene Collober, 51, confessed to punching Poinard in the stomach during an argument, resulting in him falling and hitting his head.
She left him in the bathroom for three days before deciding to buy a freezer for the body.
Her daughter alerted police after Collober told her that "something unfortunate" had happened to the chef. Poinard, who was 71 when he disappeared, has been missing for 2 years.
She allegedly cried when the police showed up and said, “I think you’ll find what you’re looking for."
The body was curled into a fetal position and covered with plastic bags. His body showed signs of previous abuse. Comments from other family members indicate that their relationship was probably emotionally and physically abusive.
According to TODAY, "Collober is now under investigation for aggravated manslaughter and, under French law, could face a harsher penalty for killing her common-law husband, which is treated as a more serious crime than killing another party."

daaaaaaaamn!
That is disgusting, and really sad.
so sad. If you are in an abusive relationship, you have to get out... whether you are a man or a woman.
Um, lol, CSI anyone? This is hilarious. YES UNFORTUNATE, but like she thought it'd be a good idea to keep him in a freezer? Like, no body dump, dumby? Holy crap!
I remember reading about it last week via MSN. D:
It's sooo horrible and sad what happened to him. :(
@Alyxandri@xanga - I completely agree with you.
@haloed@xanga - Gil Grissom would have something ironic to say about this... if the situation in itself wasn't ironic enough :P
@SodomyClown@xanga - I think there was an episode like this... possibly CSI... possibly Dexter... possibly even Bones
How romantic
for 2 years?!?! dayuuuuuuum..
don't mess with the french.
did i read this right? she had the body in the freezer for two years?!?
...I don't know what to say.
omg. gross...people treat other people like crap. :(
reminds me of a classic episode on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" (most of which u can see on hulu.com). a wife murders her husband with a frozen leg of lamb. the police are stumped.she said it must have been a stranger who broke in. all the while, she's making dinner. it was ready while the police were still there searching the house. she invites to eat as she can't possibly eat a whole lamb dinner by herself. the last scene of the story has the detective scratching his head saying," I don't know we can't find the murder weapon.But you know,I have a feeling it's right under my nose." fade out. why freeze the husband when you can freeze the murder weapon?
I have an irrational fear that one day hiking in the woods I'm going to discover human remains. That's how it always happens.
i seem to think that human remains are after me. it's disturbing. i just want to live until my 30s.
that's like the worst night i've ever had, worst hallucination ever. they said it was because my potassium was low, but omg, never has that happened when i was low.
Wow..=(
@johnny690@xanga - That's a story called "Lamb to the Slaughter," by Roald Dahl. I really like it:)
Anyways, why'd she keep him for two years in the freezer? And why didn't the cops search her house when he first went missing?
umm.... why is this on "datingish"???
wha da? she had TWO YEARS to dispose of the body and couldn't do that?
not only would i want to get rid of the evidence....but its just too damn disturbing to have to sleep every night with a dead body in my apartment!
ohmy gosh. thats nasty
@whisperitloudly@xanga - datingish focuses on sex, dating, and marriage. this is related to marriage and spousal abuse, which is a topic that comes periodically.
That's just sick.
