Songs That Break My Heart
I feel through music. Sometimes words completely fail you, and you feel that opening your mouth to form the words to speak is the most difficult thing. I couldn't tell you how many countless nights I've spent with just myself, my windowsill, and my I-Pod. Here are the songs that have broken my heart:
(above) NIGHT TERROR - LAURA MARLING (I roll over and shake him tightly, and whisper "If they want you, then they're gonna have to fight me")
LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE - EMINEM FT. RIHANNA (Baby, please come back/ It wasn't you, baby it was me/ Maybe our relationship isn't as crazy as it seems /Maybe that's what happens when a tornado meets a volcano/ All I know is I love you too much to walk away though)
ANIMAL (MIIKE SNOW COVER) - SKY FERREIRA (the original is fantastic, as well) (But I'm still trying to make my mind up/ am I free or am I tied up?)
I DON'T BELIEVE YOU - PINK (I don't mind it/ I still don't mind at all/ It's like one of those bad dreams when you can't wake up)
WHAT HE WROTE - LAURA MARLING (He wrote, I'm broke, please send for me/ But I'm broken too and spoken for, do not tempt me)
EVERYWHERE I GO - LISSIE (Danger will follow me now everywhere I go/angels will call on me and take me to my home)
What are the songs that break your heart?

"I wonder" - Kellie Pickler. Also "Whiskey Lullaby" by Allison Krauss. They're both country, and incredibly sad.
Little Motel by Modest Mouse

I don't know why, but this song makes me cry every time. Maybe because I can relate to some of it.
"Christmas Shoes" by Bob Carlisle. Yes, it's old news now but still just as heart breaking!
This Japanese song called Taion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXhaoMTI_9g&feature=related by The GazettE. It's about a girl being tortured and raped and not getting justice for it. True story. This Korean song called One by Epik High and here are the lyrics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A_uzeSvKvg. There aren't much 'love' songs that get to me since most of them are so cliched with the same message. I tend to listen to a variety of music and I love the instrumentals and if there are lyrics,my favourite tends to be the songs that leans towards the metaphorical and philosophical side with hidden meanings..
I do rec my own post? I think so.
"Salvame" by The Third and The Mortal. Even though it's got kind of a vampire undertone. "The light of the moon gives me strength/ Cold winds chant 'Nosferatu!' / I'm tired of my eternal hunger/ My soul is crying, my soul is crying!"
"Silently I surrender" also by TTatM. "Silently I surrender /The lack of hope is dragging me under/ I walk away To seek comfort in the dark.
In my dark shelter I lay / I feel my Spirit is flying away / This is the last chance for my soul to heal
Then awakes me the Voices in my head/ Your wound has healed, we have heard what you've said / We will guide you / You shall no longer fear."
"The Reign" by Tarja Turunen.
LOOK 'EM UP, YO!

"Personal" by Canadian indie band Stars is absolutely heartbreaking. I can't listen to it without feeling a little down, but it's a great song regardless. :)

Just saw them live on their reunion tour, and Andrew played this song. Ah, to be fifteen again. :)

Degausser - Brand New ;; Wish you were here - Pink Floyd ;; Simple Man - Skynard ;; Almost Lover - Fine Frenzy ;; Skin - Rascal Flatts ;; Its Over - Jesse McCartney ;; Cold as You - Taylor Swift
Limosine (*spelling?) - Brand New. That song you have to know the story behind it to get it. A little girl was on her way home from a wedding in a limo and a drunk driver hit the limo. After the accident the mother of the little girl gets out and finds her daughter only to realize she only finds her daughters head. True story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9IRHu1F1Vw
Most of the songs I mentioned are sad because they remind me of a boy (of course!)
@stateofhart - awsome song. do they even make any more music?
@SicTransitGloria19@xanga - They broke up in '05, and are just now back for their reunion tour, but Andrew McMahon has been working with his side-project turn headliner band Jack's Mannequin for the past few years. It's got a different feel than SoCo, but the music is still excellent.
@stateofhart - I thought that that group sounded so much like them, haha assumed they were a copy cat but thanks for the info
