We know that in terms of all things "Datingish," cyber-stuff is in. Not only are people getting into relationships via sites like match.com and e-harmony where they actually end up meeting people face-to-face, but sexual intercourse has long been practiced in the form of short key phrases and a lot of imagination via instant messaging.
Now, sexual intercourse has met its real cyber-match.
A new gadget was on display at the Erotica LA convention
in late June of 2004, and was soon to be released on the public market...presumably, this means it is currently on the market. It is a remote-controlled sex toy, designed specifically for physical cybersex.
Using online chat messaging and/or webcam, two people may engage in online intercourse - each controlling the other's remote control device. The device looks like a vibrator (although from the article I read, it did seem like it was built to work for both men and women - perhaps it came in two differently-shaped models), and people may control the speed and intensity of the device for their partners sexual enjoyment.
So it's partner-controlled masturbation (or sex) over the internet.
Have you heard of this thing (& did it ever actually get released)? What do you think about the concept of it?

LMFAO. The world is becoming so pathetic.
This wouldn't work for me. I prefer the real thing.
@JinnLedet@xanga - I second that.
um i wouldnt do that with a random person be it might be good for people in long distance relationships
You know, I don't think it's horrible. You try living multiple states from your significant other for uncontrolled reasons. Why is sex toys in the home bedroom acceptable, but NOT this? If it's going to bring two people closer together--and I don't see strangers using these, as the other person needs the physical remote--then let them go at it. It's better than cheating. From someone who was in a long distance relationship for over a year until we lived together, yes, I've had many late night webcam excursions with my boyfriend while we passed the months until we could see eachother again. It's probably stupidly expensive and a little overrated, but the concept isn't so bad. I prefer the real thing as well but shit happens in life that you have to make do with. As much of xanga needs to learn.
@JinnLedet@xanga - I don't see how..
@raedium@xanga - You're either being sarcastic or lack a couple of brain cells.
Love, they've invented a remote controlled vibrator to be used in cyber sexual relationships... You can't possibly sink any lower.
LOL sorry but this is ridiculous.
I'm pretty sure these have been available for quite some time.
@JinnLedet@xanga - What's wrong with that? It seems like a fantastic idea for long-distance couples who want to remain intimate while they're apart.
@just_the_average_jane@xanga - Really? LOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Ok.
I never heard of this before but one word: WEIRD!!!
Yes, this is a very big LDR tool.
That's crazy.
That is weird....
hmm. i (probably) wouldn't ever use one, but i think it's a good idea.
Its an interesting idea being in an LDR, I suppose. I wouldn't write off stuff like this as pathetic until you're a very sexual being in an LDR. However, I think I'd still probably prefer the more "conventional" ways of phone and webcam.
I guess it could be good for long distance couples...
@JinnLedet@xanga - HAHAHAHA i agree witht his dude, my thoughts exactly hahhaah
@raedium@xanga - I second this.
@JinnLedet@xanga - I agree with them on this one. As someone who's in a long distance relationship, it seems like a reasonable compromise between sex and masturbation. We're not a "cyber couple" - we met in a boarding school and went off to different colleges. It's not that a couple like us would be using it because they can't get laid; they'd be using it because they can't get laid with each other.
@unabridgedtales@xanga - Well. Instead of spending however much it cost to buy a pair of those toys, which I'm sure won't be cheap at the beginning. Buy a fucking plane ticket and get some real sex! :]
@JinnLedet@xanga - It's easier to spare a couple hours in the evening with toys/computers than it is to spare days to visit each other during the school year/work week/etc. Plus, there's a longevity factor to the toys that a trip wouldn't have.
'Sides, most LDR will take any chance they get to see each other. The toys would be in between trips.
@unabridgedtales@xanga - Hahah. Sorry. I still find the idea completely ridiculous.
lol... guess you won't need human contact anymore..... i haz interwebz
It's weird..O.o
i get the whole LDR thing, but still...
