Incest, in real life, is not funny. However, like most things,
Hollywood is able to take awful things use them for dramatic (and sometimes hilarious) plot devices.
Luke and Leia (above)
Movie: Star Wars
Relationship: Siblings
Oedipus Rating: 2. Twins separated at birth, Leia didn't know Luke was her brother when she kissed him to make the insanely hot Han Solo jealous. Sure the kiss was intense, but there was no sparks there and was more shrewd and awkward than sexy.
Luckily, there was no subsequent romance and Leia ended up with her dashing warrior and not her brother. Phew.
Marty and Lorraine
Movie: Back to the Future
Relationship: Son and mother
Oedipus Rating: 4. Marty goes back to the future and meets his parents, who are totally not interested in each other because his dad is a coward dweeb and his mom is a flirtacious hottie. Who shuns her future hubby and develops the hots for her future son. Lorraine purses Marty the whole movie-- it's seriously weird and icky-- and eventually kisses him. It is, thankfully, not good so Marty continues to exist in the future.
Commodus and Lucilla
Movie: Gladiator
Relationship: Brother and sister
Oedipus Rating: 6. Big sister Lucilla is a widow who has the hots for bad ass/ former flame Maximus. Her brother is a jerkoff and creep who kills their dad so he can rule-- he also needs her constant attention and affection. A real winner, right? He alternates between begging and blackmail to get her to touch him, but, in the end, nothing happens.
What other movies or shows do you know of that feature awful/ hilarious stories on incest?

It's not direct, but it's still wrong, Cruel Intentions.
Also, the VC Andrews books are filled with that, Flowers in the Attic.

I was thinking Cruel Intentions too. Technically, it's not incest, but that movie makes me cringe.
Not Another Teen Movie! That movie definitely has some serious incest. Made me cringe :|
I like your "Oedipus rating" system. Hilarious. I'm gonna say that the 10 goes to that real-life guy who's with his grandma.
the first thing that popped into my head was clueless
does that count?
Not direct: The Dreamers, The Ballad of Jack and Rose ( I haven't seen it), and another movie Camilla Belle(not it's not her in the incest relationship) is in The Quiet.
@Colorsofthenight@xanga - Those were the two I was thinking of. Def cringe worthy.
Joe Dirt.
YOU'RE MY SISTER, YOU'RE MY SISTER
Regarding TV shows, there's plenty of it in Arrested Development.
I love how nothing can top off Oedipus! Having a child with your own mother? Words cannot explain haha
@howsthewheather@xanga - having a child with your grandmother might though, you one uped Oedipus !
ugh ew
@ordinary_gir1@xanga - Eek that too! Your comment reminded me of the story where the mom gets pregnant with her son-in-law. :/
If you think it's natural and alright for a man to love a man or a woman to love a woman, and there's nothing wrong with it, then how can you say incest is bad? I mean if two adults love each other then who are you to say it's wrong? Seriously, the hypocrisy on xanga is getting annoying.
@wideopenskies@xanga - Win.
LOL. I find it hilarious that Gladiator and the book Flowers in the Attic make multiple appearances in the script of my life for this very reason. Oedipus Complexes are interesting to think about, disturbing and completely taboo, but interesting nonetheless.
@tavatava@xanga - Lolll
You need to re look your starwars facts leia did know she is the one who tells him that they cant do anything because shes his sister.
@bearsexxx@xanga - You need to re look your starwars facts, LUKE was the one who tells leia that they are related.

It's on 7:44.
Luke: "The force is strong in my family. My father has it, I have it...my sister has it. *pause* Yes, it's you leia!"
Leia: "I know. Somehow, i've always known."
