  • I've Got the Hots For... Fictional Characters?

I have a serious problem. I am deeply in love with men who aren't real-- and they sure as hell aren't a creep vampire or a boring werewolf.

Dear Mr. Darcy, will you ravish me? Do you mind staring at me with your gorgeous, unreadable, smoldering eyes? Could you exchange witty banter with me in that alluring accent, a mix of British, chivalry, and cool intellect? Would you get noticeably flustered when I walk in a room and declare your love to me while it is raining and you look beautiful with your matted hair, soaked shirt, and rain running down your amazing skin? Oh. So. You aren't real? Well. Um. Damn.

After the lush Darcy, my next biggest literary crush is the original bad boy, Hamlet. I've read this play countless times and watched Kenneth Branagh's epic Hamlet more times than probably anyone on this earth. Yes, he's crazy, but his words! His actions! The dangerous boys are always alluring and it's even better when they are sensitive and smart. I've been known to utter the phrase "Oh, the things I would to to Hamlet" whenever Shakespeare comes up-- and I'm not embarrassed.

Another literary soft spot is Ron Weasley from Harry Potter. I know what you are thinking-- there are lots more hunky dudes in the movies, but I just don't care. Maybe it is my strange love for pale gingers, but I'm more interested in the dopey, loyal (and maybe a little thick in the head) kid in the books than the hunky Cedric or even Harry.

Which literary characters do you have a crush on?
