I've Got the Hots For... Fictional Characters?
I have a serious problem. I am deeply in love with men who aren't real-- and they sure as hell aren't a creep vampire or a boring werewolf.
Dear Mr. Darcy, will you ravish me? Do you mind staring at me with your gorgeous, unreadable, smoldering eyes? Could you exchange witty banter with me in that alluring accent, a mix of British, chivalry, and cool intellect? Would you get noticeably flustered when I walk in a room and declare your love to me while it is raining and you look beautiful with your matted hair, soaked shirt, and rain running down your amazing skin? Oh. So. You aren't real? Well. Um. Damn.

After the lush Darcy, my next biggest literary crush is the original bad boy, Hamlet. I've read this play countless times and watched Kenneth Branagh's epic Hamlet more times than probably anyone on this earth. Yes, he's crazy, but his words! His actions! The dangerous boys are always alluring and it's even better when they are sensitive and smart. I've been known to utter the phrase "Oh, the things I would to to Hamlet" whenever Shakespeare comes up-- and I'm not embarrassed.

Another literary soft spot is Ron Weasley from Harry Potter. I know what you are thinking-- there are lots more hunky dudes in the movies, but I just don't care. Maybe it is my strange love for pale gingers, but I'm more interested in the dopey, loyal (and maybe a little thick in the head) kid in the books than the hunky Cedric or even Harry.
Which literary characters do you have a crush on?

Jack Sparrow
Lucius Malfoy and the Joker.
:)
I've got the hots for Ron Weasley too! Must be something about his goofiness...
RON WEASLEY!!! and my never ending list of literary crushes. i am very partial to jonathan strange from jonathan strange and mr norrell, peekay from the power of one, and a whole host of other people from books and anime.
Hamlet is one of those characters that really drew me in.
So too was Iago (from Othello). In fact, Iago is sexier in my opinion, than Hamlet.
In contemporary literature, I'd have to say that Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park (the books, not the films) totally does it for me. That neurotic intellectual thing is a turn on.
I've had crushes/infatuations on characters from my writings, but never from the fiction of someone else.
@sexliesandcoffee@xanga - Oh, luscious Lucius! <3 I adore him and his amazingness. Also, Snape and Draco (that scene from the sixth movie where Snape pins Draco against the wall.... I'd kill to trade with either of them). I adore most villains in stories.
@Eglariel@xanga - hahaha yes! Lucius is def my favorite:)
I don't think I'll be able to handle seeing Snape die in the next film. It's just too much.
1. Eric Northman from TrueBlood.
)
2. RONALD WEASLEY. (and sometimes Draco Malfoy
3. Jace Wayland (someone please tell me you've read the Mortal Instruments series??)
And never, EVER, Edward Cullen. I'm not into men who have a vag.
@sexliesandcoffee@xanga - I'm basically going to have a mental breakdown in the theater. Poor Severus
Mmmm... Weasley is MY king.
...Severus Snape, hands down. <3
Jake Jankowski (Water for Elephants.)
Henry DeTamble (Time Traveler's Wife.. the novel not the movie)
Fred/George Weasley
and about a billion more.
I am in love with the main characters of the Ned Vizzini books Be More Chill and It Was Kind of a Funny Story. They're so sweet and real and nerdy and amazing.
@sexliesandcoffee@xanga - agreed :) i'm right there with you
Um, yes. Fictional characters are lovely.
Ron is indeed one of my favorites! As well as Mr. Darcy. I want to fall in love with Jake Gardner from Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers, or Miles from Looking For Alaska by John Green.
<3
From movies, I like Oliver from Whip It, or Bleeker from Juno... Or, come to think of it, Ellen Page as any of her characters :) She's lovely.
Oh, and I can't forget! - Howl from Howl's Moving Castle. He's indescribably amazing.
Guys like Hamlet are interesting at first but...
I LOVED that Mr. Darcy!!!
Darcy has always been one of my favorites - Colin Firth FTW.
I'm also an anime geek, and Mello from Death Note is plastered all over my room.
Also, of course, the infamous Heathcliff. I hated every character in one of my favorite books except for him.
Actually, I could go on for pages.
@quicktofall - Howwwwl<33. Only made better by Christian Bale's voice.
Pretty much any male main character from Francesca Lia Block books.
